Yeah! Get on it Merlin!!!This would have been nice if they showed who those picks ended up being for both teams.
You're like the DeSean Jackson of this Board.

I think most of us are "reading between the lines" here. Yes, on paper, the Rams are a worse team without DJax. They lose a very talented deep receiver who was excellent insurance against injury to any of the top 3. (Not to mention he could have been a weapon as a PR.) And the cap savings of waiving him are pretty minimal.i didnt hear anyone reporting he was being a cancer anywhere.
money is what im thinking.... if he gets picked up they get some cash off the books.I think most of us are "reading between the lines" here. Yes, on paper, the Rams are a worse team without DJax. So the only logical explanation for the move is that his attitude was actively harming the team. There's no other explanation that makes much sense, IMHO.
skow is not a return man though... we have such dogshit return skillsI'm very disappointed in D Jackson. I was totally on board that he wanted to win back home in LA. I understand being unhappy about not playing much but, he should have played and hoped a deal could have been made. He was an injury away from getting more PT.
It's funny how I thought Jackson was insurance for Atwell taking time to develop while Atwell was insurance for Jackson getting injured. Now, neither will contribute to the Rams winning for the rest of the season.
Oh well next men up. Benny Skow and Harris look promising and want to play for the Rams.

But now that the trade deadline has passed, they can't use any cap savings to sign anyone new (except maybe an unsigned vet or maybe a scrub from another team's practice squad). From a pure $ to talent ratio, doesn't seem to me that waiving DJax helps the Rams much in 2021. And they're certainly not focused on saving $ for the future... clearly they want to maximize every possible asset for a run THIS year.money is what im thinking.... if he gets picked up they get some cash off the books.
Agree with this post 100%.If Jackson was indeed willing to stay, it is very interesting to me.
Says A LOT about McVay and the Rams' Leadership. I mean that as a huge positive.
Says that the "We Not Me" is not just a cute little saying but a real thing because I thought Jackson's speed and deep-play ability helped them and is not duplicated with other receivers on the roster. Just one injury, and Jackson could have been valuable. Furthermore, if he winds-up with a top-NFC-contender, that could come-back to bite the Rams in-the-butt.
Regardless of whether what I wrote in the previous paragraph is accurate, if the Rams' Leadership is truly Team-1st, then I like the decision to release him because it does send a clear (and great) message to the roster ... which is mostly young.
Again, just don't want to see DeSean Jackson on an NFC Contender.

Seems like a classy statement to me. But I imagine some posters will find a way to be offended. You be wrong about that!

I reserve judgment until a week or so after he lands and the bitter sets in……I take it back. He's a man.
Jackson didn't sign and wouldn't have signed with the Rams to be a reserve. Jackson is healthy, still has speed, and showed early in the season that he could get open deep. It turned out that McVay didn't need him for the offense to succeed and didn't direct plays to him. The situation just didn't work out.I think most of us are "reading between the lines" here.
