Why was he cut? If it's legal trouble, no. If it's because he sucks, also no. If it's because the Redskins are dumb, let's give it a shot.
So the Redskins are dumb? Sounds good. Let's go.He said something to the effect of “I watch more film than the coaches here do.”
From what I gather, he's just a guy who speaks his mind. He previously complained about practices being too lax. A guy who wants to practice harder? Not sure I see problem with that. But as they say, there's two sides to every story. The truth might be somewhere in the middle. I'm sure McVay has a good rapport with his old boss. He oughta give him a call and see what's really up with the guy. Not sure how long it would take him to get up to speed in Wade's defense. But he could provide some quality depth and he's had a good season.
The only issue I see is Swearinger complained about playing man and said he and his teammates are much better looking at the QB. Wade usually likes his guys to play man.
Am I correct that he has been in the league long enough that he is no longer subject to waivers? He is a free agent or no?
He's better than Christian by a mile. Might be better than Joyner too. If his salary is manageable, I'd put a claim in.
He is very good near the LOS. He'd give the Rams an ability to replace Barron for example, which would free up Christian to play more safety in pairing with Johnson.
The box guys are way easier to find than the guys who can play deep with instincts. But we could use him that's for damn sure.
All that aside the dude is about as dumb as a box of rocks, going off the things he's said. But goddamn he can see ball get ball.
Swearinger is a very smart football player. He's a good fit in Wade's scheme too because he can play all over the back end. But he is more comfortable in the box. He'd replace Christian. I doubt Christian would play over Joyner. Joyner is a much better player. For all the issues Joyner has had this year, he's looked quite good while playing Christian's role.
