That coaching staff is potentially, amazing. So many ex players. If they can gel, you know damn well they will command the respect for players to buy in.

This may be an attractive free agent destination. The could very easily become division bullies very soon. And with this staff, that's what they will be. Bullies.

I think the coordinators are impressive, but I'm not sold on Campbell. Never been much of a fan of his.

I think rolling with Goff and getting 5-7 wins will ultimately set them back too.

And it's Detroit.

Im thinking it's more like Detroit hired the offense version of Rex Ryan. And unlike Ryan, he's isnt being handed a really good team that he can ruin

I'm not so sure about that. He strikes me as like Mike Vrabel. He's more of a CEO-type HC who can connect with and motivate players. Gotta respect a guy who learned under Bill Parcells and Asshole Face. Plus, he did an impressive job in Miami getting them to compete when he was the interim HC. And he was a very green coach at the time. I gotta say that for the first time in awhile, Detroit appears to be making some very smart moves. That coaching staff looks impressive on paper, as does their front office.

Agreed jrry. That interview was overplayed IMO the players respond to him which is what's important. He's a competitive dude and may be better than folks think.

I have enjoyed making jokes about it. But if players respect you, they respond to stuff like that.
The most impactful thing I've heard from a coach in as long as I can remember was when McVay was hired, he was asked what makes players want to play for coaches. And his response was so spot on, he said (paraphrasing) that players want to play for coaches who make them better players, guys who will challenge them to be the best they can be.
Hopefully for Goff, that's what their coach is all about.
I think their o-line is pretty decent, and Swift is a damn good RB. The WR room looks a little light though. Golladay is an RFA, correct? They can put a 1st round tender on him right?

He's a UFA. All their top WRs (Golladay, Amendola, and Jones) are UFAs.

They're definitely moving forward with a clear visions which seems counter to the previous regime which could be in part due to the change in leadership at the top. Sheila Ford Hemp seems to be putting people in place to do the job which is counter to what her mother was doing there towards the end of her life. I hope it works out for them the franchise hasn't had any real success so they're over due.

Not with Jared Goff as their starting QB. Detriot Lions + Jared Goff = mediocrity

Just looked at their cap situation - having a bad roster and little cap space is not a good mix. I feel like they have to franchise Golladay considering Jones will be gone.

Franchise Golladay, and hope that the offense can be okay. Draft all defense.

It will be impressive if they can turn that franchise around. Kinda like how Sean McVay did. But yeah nobody really knows what Campbell is. Is he an offensive mastermind? probably not. Can he be a good head coach? TBD. But he certainly is putting a good coaching staff together.

We were a shit franchise until the McVay/Goff pairing pulled us out of the dumpster.

Their cap situation isn't great (because Patricia and Quinn were idiots), but it's not bad either. They can create enough room to fill some holes.
