Replace him, I am done.
He is a Fucking 6th rounder. We will have lots and lots of picks next draft. Draft a couple of corner backs and tell him to hit the road.
Here is his problem, his brain.
Dumb as a box of hammers and you can not fix stupid.

Whether the Saints have Olave for this game is going to be a key factor for the Rams secondary. I think he's among the very best and a serious threat deep for our boys.

If he's out we're in business. If not we're probably gonna see Durant lining up opposite him quite a bit. I would hope. But either way he's gonna be a problem if he's playing. Only real advantage if he does play is that the Saints don't have a top QB throwing to him.

Jeeeze, Dan. Imagine how it is for the rest of us!

All I can say is I am past being stuck on Mount Stupid where I used to be and turned the curve upwards from the Valley of Despair. Confidence is lower than it used to be but competency is increasing

Folks can decide where they are on any given subject.

Witherspoon needs to be on the opponent's best receiver every week at this point. He also needs to be a priority re-sign in free agency.

Certainly not the best game for Kendricks today..

Wouldn't Durant be a better option at this point out wide?

Spoon has always been the guy who can lock down a good matchup but when that other player has the quality he gets roasted. And he's up and down as a result.

I don't want to knock the guy because I do appreciate what he brings. But Olave is the kind of guy who will give him fits. Olave will probably roast all our dudes honestly. But I think the best suited matchup for him is Durant. We'll see what the Rams do here though, no idea how they're going to approach this or if it's even worth worrying about. His health might solve that for us.

What do you when when they motion that receiver away? Or line him up in the slot?

It's not as simple as we might think.

Your chart had two axis. I don't read any with more than one.

I hope McVay has seen enough of DK and Durant starts. They have found their in the box SCB for the rest of the season in Lake. He played as an in the box safety both at UCLA and the senior bowl. They can play with 3 safties in their nickel, Lake, Fuller and JJ.

I like how Pleasant has returned the zone match concept to the defense, which Staley used mixing it with man coverages, though it has led to some breakdowns. But the more they coach it up the better the DBs will get. It allows them to use Lake instead of SCB. Zone match is a way of playing a zone scheme aggressively. This was the element missing from Morris' scheme and IMO why the secondary is playing better overall.

They went after him for a reason today.

I will leave it up to the coaches to decided if he has an upside.

At this point it is hard to see.

Dude put us in late jeopardy single handed today.

Nonsense.

Staley's coverages didn't disappear and now reappear with Pleasant. And the use of Lake is to match personnel, not scheme.
I am sorry but this explanation is worse than your understanding of the 2-gap 0-tech.

Morris didn't change the scheme after Staley left and using Lake has nothing to do with some change in coverages.

And as an aside---this deification of Staley and Pleasant and the demagoguing of Morris is very odd. Staley proved that he's no god, the tarnish of off. Pleasant got canned last year and the Lions got better in coverage -- defensive passer rating fell from 109 to 84 after he left.

That isn't to say they don't know their stuff or are bad coaches, but blindly trying to overrate them to dump on someone you don't like does not make any sense.

It is your right to not engage on the scheme, you can ignore me, but the things you've posted here and other posts on coverage are just not true and that can be shown with photo and video evidence.

examples:
1. Rams do not 2-gap their 0-tech.
2. Morris didn't change the coverage scheme away from the Fangio scheme. (100% the same? No. Vastly different? No. )

It would be a lot simpler to just say you think the Rams defense is less successful in 2021-23 than it was in 2020 (true) and you blame Morris. Any fan can say that and it's just an opinion. Another fan can feel different.

But when you dig into scheme and present things that are errant and use that errant information to blame Morris you open yourself up to being challenged.

That is only fair, wouldn't you say?

Back in mid-September, I posted the following:
"For the life of me, I can't figure out what the Rams' coaches see in Derion Kendrick."

I still can't.

Agreed the guy does almost nothing. It was telling yesterday when Washingtons qb threw a bad ball in the end zone and Kendrick was the closest guy to the ball and he acted like he had something to do with the pass being incomplete. I just laughed at him. He's all show no grit or determination
