Jourdan made it sound like he prefers to bring in people who can teach him something new.
Definitely part of it… but I wonder if there’s another aspect.
Maybe keeps guys focused on their roles.. and not being in competition with each other?

They’ll move up if they’re good.. because people want a piece of the Rams.

I agree with Vrabel not stepping down to DC. Too much controversy in that firing and he'll be a HC.

Staley back sounds like it could be a good thing.

Just say no to Joe Barry. He may just end up a LB coach somewhere.

On Belicheat, it's quite intriguing. I strongly disliked Turley and Finnegan until they became Rams and Lebron and Rondo until they became Lakers. Cheered against ex-Patriot Michel until he became a Ram. I could switch for Belichick. He may be intrigued to devise stuff for Donald's last years here. AD in a LT role?? Hmmm, salivates at the free space. McVay worships Bill and like others said could learn a lot. Plus if he helps get us a couple more SB wins - it still may not make up for the losses but heck we'll gladly take them. His price may be a bit high though plus does he even want to step down at less money than a HC. It's kind of a demotion. Forget that I said I would like him!! /spits

Which gives my name outside the box a leg up.

Honestly though should we even consider an in house name?

Are we seriously mentioning Bill Belichick as a candidate for defensive coordinator? The man is one of the greatest Head Coaches of all time. Yall are smoking the strong stuff if you think he’s coaching at any level besides head coach. If he doesn’t end up with a team as a head coach, my guess is he sits out a year.

I picked Vrabel as a long shot for DC a couple weeks ago. I'm sticking with it!

I laugh at the idea that a HC who has been very successful, would take a coordinator role
I mean really, has there ever been a successful HC who went back to being a coordinator?

It is unlikely, yes, but doesn't mean a coach won't entertain it if they just want be around football. Belichick (whom I think you're referring to) would most likely get a job afterwards anyways. Ultimately that would be up to him. I could see him doing the consulting thing or just taking a break for a year as well. We'll eventually see which way he goes.

I think the biggest question with Raheem’s departure is….does this influence Aaron Donald to consider retirement sooner? I’d have placed retirement at like a 10% chance, but now that Raheem is gone? Probably 15%-20%.

No way AD walks away from $35 million. May be his last year tho as his contract runs out from what I remember.

Brian Bilick of the Raves, but i think he might have been a consultant. That’s the closest that comes to mind.

If Staley comes back it wouldnt be as a successful HC. Lol.

Wade Phillips. Norv Turner. Jim Caldwell. Ron Rivera. There's been some successful coaches that have jumped back and forth

This is where the definition of success becomes murky.
