.

So the US is on an exponential curve for their daily results now.

Exponential.

You need to get it under control. Stop testing.

Is this supposed to be blue font? I mean - as much as we all have disagreed in this thread - no one really thinks that testing less means we would have fewer cases, do they?

is there anyone who thinks that is the case? If so, can you walk me through the thought process?

If you test less people you have less positive results. Not fewer people getting it but less positive results. It's simple mathematics and the basic manipulation of statistics. I'm not saying this is the correct thing to do or anything but that's the premise. And yes this will be less of an issue to the media soon.

right - not fewer cases - just fewer known cases. As if not knowing is helpful in any way.

and I guess we will see if America stops paying attention to Covid now. The rest of the world doesn’t seem to have dropped the story.

Science: Thanksgiving dinner can literally kill you.

Also science:

“A disclaimer: The preprint has not yet been peer reviewed, meaning that the results haven't been replicated or reviewed, nor the model used in the experiment. But these sorts of studies can help guide future research - and give concertgoers just a touch of hope”

So - not really science.

Kid Rock concerts wouldn’t be worth going to even if Covid ended - which it is supposed to any time now, right? I’m guessing Bill Gates and Soros and the Clintons or whoever are waiting until it’s officially announced before they shut off the 5G.

Yes. Well not really end but be reported as needed for what it is and always was, kind of like diabetes or heart disease in terms of mortality rates.
DIABETES AS CAUSE OF DEATH
§ Diabetes is the primary cause of death for 79,535 Americans each year

§ Diabetes contributes to the death of 252,806 Americans annually (combining death certificates that list diabetes as the primary and a contributing cause of death)
https://professional.diabetes.org/s.../media/sci_2019_diabetes_fast_facts_sheet.pdf

The social distancing, mask mandates will be the first to go away gradually. My best guess would be right after the new year when America likes to get fit, eat better and there will be less social inducing events that the holidays bring. In a nutshell, the media will latch onto something else and while science will still do its thing with Covid, the masses won't be listening or worry about it anymore...much like cancer, HIV, H1N1, child abuse, homelessness, domestic abuse and on down the line of things that effect and kill every day in America.

I am curious about what comes about relating to the Covid vaccine. The urgency, the demand, the coverage etc.

If i'm wrong about all this i'll come back here and own up to it. I'm not going anywhere. Cheers.

I think it's awesome to not go anywhere on Thanksgiving. Hate that it has to be a pandemic that ends up saving me but might as well enjoy a sliver of happiness if I can. Not to broken up about not going anywhere for Xmas either.

Yeah, not traveling is a blessing for me too. If only I didn't have to spend so much on Christmas. I'm trying to convince my wife to become a Jehovah's Witness for the month of December every year. We'd save a bundle. :hush:

Huge election-related rally/celebration in NYC today. Crowded masses of people with a huge number maskless.

Not a damn word or care about Covid.

The same people who shame others for engaging in casual activities, and who will soon insist on further restrictions will say nothing about this. And you sure as shit won't hear "Superspreader event". No one should ever take any of the Covid commentary from these guys seriously. People had to cancel weddings, skip funerals, leave loved ones to die alone. All while being lectured by Hayes and crew about the need for such restrictions. But election dance party? “People need this”

Fuck right off.

The truth is that a high majority of people celebrating here in Manhattan yesterday were indeed wearing masks.

Another truth is that New York State has had one of the lowest positivity rates in the U.S. for almost six months now; and that is the result of the strong mitigation efforts put in place and mostly maintained during that period. It has also allowed for more activity, as many things have opened-up in phases during that time.

Still, things can change on-a-dime ... especially in a dense environment like NYC; and it was careless and wrong for there to be that much congregation.

Well, if masks prevent the spread, and covid-19 only lasts 10 days, shouldn't covid-19 be done and over.

Wearing a mask is total B.S.!

Ummm ... No

Masks help limit the spread ... not prevent.

And, as long as Covid is spreading (not everyone is wearing a mask or social distancing or taking other reasonable precautions) the virus remains out there to be spread.

Wearing a mask is not a savior but it is most certainly not Bull Shit either.

You can't possibly think 'wearing a mask is total B.S.' ... Can You?
