Your point was if a specialist clears Cooks to play that's ridiculous; that decision should be left to the doctors. But if the specialist is a neurologist, he is also a doctor, and if the specialist/doctor clears him, then...Sure, your point?

officiating commentator said intent doesn't matter... which of course it doesn't.
Was a missed call.
That type of decision should be left up to people most knowledgeable of the situation, which would be the doctors who clear him and himself.
Pretty sure the specialist is a doctor, maybe a neurologist.

Nah, that's not what I meant. I was referencing the article that was posted that suggested we shut him down even if the specialist finds nothing wrong. To clarify, I think we do whatever the specialist says.Your point was if a specialist clears Cooks to play that's ridiculous; that decision should be left to the doctors. If the NFL is serious about player safety as is advertised, there should be a protocol for placing players in this situation on IR or PUP, and having their cap hit reversed.
This way, lost value of an asset doesn’t enter the formula when assessing a player’s health.
If necessary for cheaters (listening Cheatriots?), they could have it subject to league approval to recover cap space so only obvious cases apply.
The TV ref even said it should have been a penalty. They can't determine intent. They aren't supposed to.What I want to know is, why is it that a nuance of “clearly the defender didn’t INTEND to hit his helmet. He only got him with the side of his helmet” - become the narrative with the announcers, when every time Ram defenders get helmet- helmet it is an obvious foul, 15 yards and intent isn’t even a thing.
Did he not get over 1000 receiving yards? I think some people have a very myopic view of cooks. He has great hands. The concusion prior to this one was a fantastic catch. He held onto the ball on this one. He catches contested balls or balls over the middle or what ever. The one in the super bowl, the DB had his arm held down or he would have caught that one. He is intragal to what this offense does. Stop devaluing him.Should have never traded a 1 for him. Better to use it on a lineman or a legit number 1 wr. Odell would have been excellent in this offense. I hope we can trade him and that crazy salary before the deadline.
I agree. Guys are so quick to be done with players. I think Cooks is underrated. I am rooting for the guy. Love his talent, work ethic, his hands. Every arrow in his quiver flies straight and true.Did he not get over 1000 receiving yards? I think some people have a very myopic view of cooks. He has great hands. I never understood the Moncrief hype, he's one of the most average to under achieving WR's in the league. I'd rather Reynolds get Cooks' snaps if he were shut down.If they were to shut him down, would Donte Moncreif have any value.
He has had a decent career, but he did nothing in Pitt. Of course they have a lot of QB/ passing game issues as well.
Have not watched him much over the years, but he is only 26. Is he a deep threat? Could he be an option?

What is going on is he protects himself by ducking and putting his head in harm's way.
During his team’s bye, #Rams WR Brandin Cooks saw a concussion specialist. Source said the visit was “positive” & that the hope is this latest concussion won’t necessitate a long-term recovery. Still, coach Sean McVay has said Cooks’ health is most important. They’ll be cautious.
