We should trade Josh Reynolds for JAG olineman or a 6th rd pick
200.webp

Maybe we could trade the cap space we get when he retires for Ryan Groy

Concussions are a cumulative injury. The more you have the easier it is for you to be concussed. They need to quit running him on those sweeps and limit his hits to when he's catching passes. They have Henderson to run those sweeps. Bottom line is I'm concerned about his career longevity. He's contractually locked in through 2022 before they can even consider releasing him or hope he doesn't have to retire because his dead cap is huge for years.

It's time to limit his snaps to extend his career. What I don't like about the other WRs is that Henderson doesn't have particularly good hands. He's prone to drops. Mike Thomas is inconsistent at best and most of that comes in his route running. That leaves only Jojo who is short, and prone to fumbles. This is where the Webster release to keep Jojo could bite them in the ass.

IMO they have two under used TE's. I'd rather see Everett split out than Reynolds.

This is concerning. I am concerned for his long term health. I would hope Mr Kroenke and the Rams would live up to their committments to Brandin if he and his family felt that it was right to step away from the game for health reasons, and make sure he is looked after in the long term. No one should be getting as many serious brain injuries as that as part of their job.

Don't get me wrong - I love what Cooks gives us as a receiver - he really stretches the field and opens things up underneath and my post isn't a dig at him.

It also doesn't help that he has a bad habit of lowering his head every time when he is about to get hit. He has near misses every week where I think, "Man he is lucky, he didn't get dinged there..."

No doubt. He's got a really bad technique, and also lacks awareness on the field - he just doesn't have a good picture of where everyone is in his mind I think, but this involuntary "flex" or lowering of his head just makes it worse.

Said nobody ...
Sorry, i couldn't resist.

Sillyness aside, we're going to need Reynolds this season for the reasons i have said and it should be clear why. Kupp has been injury prone, Cooks get's dinged and is concussion-prone.
This is a 3 WR centric offense.

IMO moving JR needs to wait.

Seems like he invites hits to his head. He two weeks off to recoup. Rams need to work with him to learn to avoid the hits.

Hope he's okay? He's already done unfortunately. Concussions progressively get worse and easier to get each time. It never goes the other way.

I love Cooks as a human, and I do think he's been great for us. But don't think he'll be on the roster next year, no way. And even beyond that I feel for him and his career. He'll keep getting concussions until he decides to retire, poor guy plays so tough for his size. Ton of respect for his game.

If he retires, then we get a huge cap hit, I believe.

There has to be a clause in the contract about retirement. I can’t imagine the Rams not protecting themselves in that event.

How’s the dead cap work on a trade though? Cooks is obviously good bait based on his history of being traded. If it doesn't hurt I’d try it. We are gonna have to pay Kupp and fix the o-line somehow. Not to mention Cooks has a history of disappearing in games. I honestly don’t want to overpay an injury prone decoy. We could get better production out of someone else.

Woods would appear to be the next in line speed guy to stretch D, which Im not really a huge fan of doing. Reynolds might be able to do it with his big body and go up and catch contested balls rather than having to have a clean run away from the defender.

Just my thoughts, don’t think I don’t see Cooks value. Hope the dude does what he thinks is best for him and keeps him healthy. I’d rather have Bradfords legs than Cooks head at 50 tbh.

Get Well Brandon!

'Living With Yourself' is certainly an off-beat and unusual series, although i'm not sure many will understand your reference.
Some people might have from the story earlier about him denying his scene was a play on Kraft's situation. Hopefully they get it now thanks to you!

Webster is on our practice squad.

That's true but they would have to make a roster move to sign him to the active roster. So right now their options are Reynolds (who continues to be inconsistent) and Thomas who looks good in TC but thus far not good enough to play. That's why I said their best option IMO is to play Everett as a WR with Higbee as the TE. Everett is better than Reynolds or the other backups.

Honestly, I thought the cut Rams WR that you were initially speaking of as Reynolds replacement was fan favorite KhaDarel Hodge who Cleveland picked up off waivers to the bewilderment of many of our fans. Thomas, Hodge and Webster all had a pretty outstanding pre-season for us.

A roster move shouldn't be all that difficult when you're still carrying guys like Hager & Demby. Even Kelly can go back on waivers once Brown returns. jmo.

My husband is a TBI survivor and these hits on Cooks are very concerning, I know what that can do to a person, concussions are nothing to play at and can have long term very serious consequences, my prayers go out to him

It seems that with what has been learned about brain trauma from multiple concussions, that it would be disregarding his future welfare not to at least give retirement a hard look...

Seems a lot of these young athletes believe they are invincible and the cash (and their agents) are doing all the thinking. Can't say I was all that different back in the day. The NFL & the NFLPA need to change their protocol in these matters so that an independent group of doctors become the final arbiters in such cases. jmo.

I love the guy and what he brings to the team but he has a glass jaw and his lifetime health is at risk now. The concussions are adding up quickly. It's time to seriously consider hanging them up.
