Gregg Williams and Asshole Face hate each other. They'd never work together again.
That was my impression.

I do not want:
Let's start fresh. My list would be (in no order):
1. Jim Harbaugh
2. Matt Patricia
3. Todd Haley
4. Jim Bob Cooter (best HC name ever)
5. Greg Roman (if the Bills offense gets back to playing like it did last year)
6. Tom Herman
7. Mark Dantonio

Matt Patricia, very bright, however, needs a shave....Todd Haley would be intriguing and again with hope he learned humility under Tomlin. Tom Herman a great name, IMO, he's a college guy all the way, but I would kick the tires and IMHO Mark Dantonio health is not up for it.
No to Greg Roman and Jim Bob Cooter has done wonders with that offense and Peyton Manning loved him, however, in Los Angeles he would have to change his name to James Robert Coter.
Yea, Dantonio would likely turn it down. He's older. But he's the best player developer and Xs and Os coach in college football. He runs pro style schemes and wins with kids who are turned away from programs like Ohio State and Michigan. I don't know how he would mesh with NFL egos, but he's among the very best there is in terms of pure coaching.
I expect Herman would turn it down too. Patricia and Cooter both seem like strong options.
Shannahan would be perfect. I'd give him a little more input in decisions, but I'd keep him away from the D.
It certainly is tough to go from a 4-2 to a 3-4 with 1 legitimate LB.That would definitely be the rub with Shanahan - he'd have to keep us as a 4-3 team, where he's always hired 3-4 guys before. He did precipitate the Albert Hayneswroth blowup in Washington, trying to make him a 3-4 NT one year after he was signed to be the interior anchor of a 4-3 defense. There is no place for Quinn and Donald in a 3-4, and possibly not even for Brockers. So as a condition, the DC has to run a 4-3.
Yeah, I quoted myself. But .... it's all starting to fall into place. This was probably a directive and not so much a Fisher decision too, IMO.
I do like Fish....Seems like a nice fellow...Great values an all...Just think the game has passed him by...Looks like the players want him out too....skunked on Nat. TV???? That tells a lot right there....I've stood up for Fisher and I want to like the guy, but it's been four years of inconsistency, unpreparedness, and just general sloppiness.
Seriously loved your comment except this...with this QB play, how can Quick really be responsible for his numbers? Felt the same way about Cook too...I can understand the remark about Quick
Me love Todd Haley...I look at the Steelers like the 2000 Rams...I just drool at the talent & the ability.....and the way they are used.no love for Todd Haley?
Great list Merlin....TODD HALEY is absolutely killing it. Having failed once as head coach is something I view as a positive, too, coming off his current performance. It means he knows how important stacking the staff is, vice putting buddies on it, and a million other details you can only learn the hard way.
JOSH MCDANIELS same deal. Doing a great job as OC, but also has been exposed to the best organization in football and the best head coach. Also failed once as a head coach, again a big positive for me.
Keep em coming!!!!!:yess:KEN WHISENHUNT is a coach who is often maligned but has a ton of experience, brings strong offensive savvy, and has actually seen a Super Bowl as a head coach. Chargers' offense is already off to a good start with his return to the organization as OC.
So many good choices outside the NFL too...
NICK SABAN is only going to talk to a top destination type team. The Rams are one of them now so he would be in play if Stan is interested in him.
JIM HARBAUGH looks like the next Saban in terms of watch out once he gets dug in there in Michigan. Would he listen to a big money offer, full power, and a strong roster under a patient owner? I think so.
Great ideas bro! My thoughts, college coach...offensive minded but will look at a great guy like the Dantonio dude from a solid program....need some new blood...young blood....So I'm open minded...any others I've thought about...Jim Bob...maybe...who's the OC with Green Bay, that McCarthy fellow...oh yeah, he's the HC...GARY PATTERSON has probably done more with less than any coach of this current college lineup. The dude can flat-out coach this game and develop talent, what he's done with TCU is very impressive. Defensive background but seems to have a very good grasp of overall team management and offense as well.
JIMBO FISHER is a hell of a coach at Florida State, had a "bad" year at 10-3 last year but is a guy who has a very strong offensive background and did a great job preparing Jameis for the NFL. Dude is legit in my estimation.
DAVID SHAW is a favorite around here and for good reason. Dude has done a great job running the show at Stanford in replacing Harbaugh and deserves a shot just as much as any other collegiate head coach. Brings strong offensive knowledge seasoned by both playing under guys like Walsh and Green, plus serving on NFL team staffs.
I always thought, these dudes go for upside & measurables...no way, you stand Goff side by side with Wentz, then look at film and you take Goff over that ginger...no fucking way....Hell, Snead probably wanted to stay at 15..or even trade back and take Lynch, Connor Cook or Brissett.. Maybe even Hackenberg....and yeah, Hackenberg can STILL PLAY....Yeah, I quoted myself. But .... it's all starting to fall into place.

Norv Turner. Dude couldn't build a team to save his life, but he can coach them. Keep Snead, (He's brought in more talent to this team in 5 years than the Rams have had since Martz), and let Turner do his thing.
Maybe even Hackenberg....and yeah, Hackenberg can STILL PLAY....

So...how did you feel when Tavon dropped the ball last night? How about his year with Sam, when we tried to go to a more up-tempo, spread it around offense? Do you judge him as critically? just curious.....opcorn:I've seen too many drops that hit him right on the hands, and not nearly enough catches of contested balls for a guy of his physical stature. Like Fisher, I've given Quick a long leash and a lot of benefit of the doubt, but I've seen enough at this point that I'm willing to move on.
Cook had some bad drops too, and I've seen him quit on more than one route. Not missing him.
@den-the-coach
LOLOLOL-LOL!!! Nah man, Hackenberg can really throw the rock...You know that...All he needs is confidence....Love to see him in a year or two....just you wait.:shades:

More touches....more targets....not a fair sample....look at TD's per touches...sure that Pro Football Ref. can do something like that...had more TD's in one season last year than Quick has in his career - even though Quick has been here a year longer.
You must have missed the start of the 2014 season?....again...no excuses for this guy, but he's clearly a better WIDE RECEIVER....if we want to move the ball, it would be wiser to target receivers like Britt, Kendricks, and Quick...with throws...mixed in with a lil, very little of Tavon Austin....sorta like we used Az HakimWe've seen Tavon make a huge impact before, I've yet to see Quick do that.
