My 2c. Todd Haley is the best OC in the NFL imo, it showed again last night. Getting favorable matchups for AB vs Breeland by sliding him to the other side of the field (9 out of his 11 targets) over going against Josh Norman paid off with 2 bigtime tds. He has an obvious eye for talent. I think Haley has been humbled quite a bit in Pittsburgh, and also getting to work with a great organization and Head Coach has to have helped his temperament.

In all honesty, I don't know how people can assume Fisher doesn't understand modern offenses.
I mean, he stops them on defense, right? Gotta understand it to be able to stop it.
He simply hasn't had a QB his whole time here. Everyone agrees it's the most important position, yeah?

I was talking football methodology as a whole -- Fisher knows stuff -- but does Fisher have the drive and determination and more importantly the energy of a younger coach who will uncover every stone to get the best out of each player on the list ?- to explore new principles new techniques be open to try things -- from the outside it sure doesn't look like he does.

There is no urgency from him on the sidelines - no passion -- and I understand it is only one game and we didn't score etc etc -- and he has 15 more to rectify it but man that one game was deplorable. Imagine looking up from the huddle and this inanimate mustache is staring back at you -- hardly awe inspiring stuff.

X I agree great players make great coaches and the players were really bad yesterday - but we have the youngest list in the NFL -- do we have the oldest coaching staff and are they the best teachers for this group ? Can they relate to the players ? or do they just yell at them " DO THIS OR ELSE YOU WILL BE CUT !!" to me that is no way coach.

All the people Fisher has surrounded himself feel old school and archaic. They don't appear to have the energy to try new things or be on the same wavelength as the players -- and the message does not appear to be getting through which fundamentally is the coaches job.

Perhaps Quick would have more targets if he warranted them. If you can't get open, you're not targeted. If you run the wrong route, you're not targeted. If the QB throws you the ball and it hits you in the back because you're not looking, you won't be even considered again. Quick isn't going to get it, and please don't bring up 2014, that was a long time ago and with a different OC. Even Drew Bennett had one good season. If one season doesn't make you good, 4 games surely doesnt.
A lot of assumptions here...not open...really? Sometimes guys are open but really don't look it...Sometimes guys are covered and can still make a play...Sometimes guys will run the wrong route. Lets stay in the present...like last Monday... in comparison to a guy that was recently targeted 12 times...for 4 catches....Quick is obviously the better wide receiver....and definitely deserves more targets...with a severely limited starting QB....that probably can't get him the ball downfield.
One good season shows you do have the ability....4 games leads me to believe you may have some talent....Great coaching can usually bring it out...

Goff is our QB and he hasn't even played yet so I don't know why you're comparing him unfavorably to Wentz, especially considering that Wentz threw to his first read every time.
I'm just stating facts, that I observed...when they talk about upside & potential, I'm sure measurables play the largest role...Arm strength, size, and speed are easy projections....regardless of how Wentz played...But the fact that he was able to suit up and start speaks volumes...mainly about his mental understanding & probably about his work ethic, which seem much better than Goff's at this moment in time....

ESPN LA was saying Sean McVay, the Washington OC, while young has been praised a lot... Tom Herman is another college coach I like, him or Dave Shaw would be up there if we look for a new coach.

I could be wrong. I think the reason that Goff didn't start has more to do with what coach wanted, than it was a commentary on Goff's readiness.

1st off, i'm staying Jeff Fisher isn't going anywhere. Is only a matter of time before its official he and Snead get re-up'd... Fisher is just buying Goff a few more weeks to learn the playbook and get comfortable w/ what he needs to do surrounding the pre snap aspects of the game imho.
If anything Fisher will get resigned and make look to hire a proven OC that can insure Goff becomes a good QB in the league...

But to play along if a gun was pointed at me and I needed to come up w/ a list. This would be my list.

If somehow Asshole Face is available then thats a no brainer. He would need to have a good DC line up since the relationship w/ GW is beyond repair.

David (not Fn' John) Shaw love his intangibles and leadership!
Rod Chudzinski (2TE offense & can help bring along Goff) if he could keep GW and his staff

Ken Zampese great track record w/ developing QBs. He's due for a HC gig. Its in his bloodlines

If this was mention earlier, my apologies...This was in Bonsignor's article: Very impressive resume, however I don't know if his O is the Spread or not....pretty sure Ohio State bludgeoned Oregon in the Natty a couple years back.

"And if it’s a new coach they eventually go looking for, here’s something to chew on: University of Houston coach Tom Herman, who’s made immediate and prolific improvements to every offense he’s ever coached — grew up in Simi Valley and played football at Cal Lutheran University.

Think about it: The hottest young coach in the country grew up a stone’s throw from the Rams’ home base and played football at the stadium adjacent to their practice field.

The Rams have a talented young quarterback to groom in Jared Goff and an offense that needs a dose of sophistication and updating.

You could do worse than the guy who just whipped Oklahoma, is now 15-1 in two seasons with the Cougars and who Urban Meyer entrusted his Ohio State offense with.

Remember, Meyer, Herman and the Buckeyes won a national championship together in 2014. They were down to their third-string quarterback.

Just saying."
