This is the right move. The teams and NFLPA had to have had the utmost influence here, because the NFL surely didn’t want to move this game.
------------
It’s the right thing to do. Nobody would be happy if Gurley, Donald, Goff or Mahomes, Hill, Hunt got lost for the season.
-----------
Mexican living in Mexico City. One of the most interesting and worldy cities

But…

the NFL got this one right. The Estadio Azteca is an old horrible stadium located in a very poor area of the city. Hopefully they will switch venue for the future, if not, I prefer watching the Games being played in US stadiums.
------------
A lot of people who booked flights and hotel accommodations are really going to be scurrying to get refunds etc!
-----------
Was probably the right move under the circumstances, but it’s a massive lose-lose situation for the NFL. Travelling fans with flights and hotels booked are going to be very upset.
-----------
The NFL used its head for a change. I would not be surprised if the Union threatened a mutual no show.
-----------
IF… I was a fan of either team and had paid for my flights and hotel etc.. I would be pissed.. Not because the NFL moved the game but because they didn’t plan for this and see it as a possibility.
-----------
A good guess is the NFL was getting legitimate feedback of more and more players actually not going to take the field.

As agents made the calls to the NFLPA there became a tipping point of absolute embarrassment of that leaking out…as well as a potential lawsuit for willful disregard of player safety being considered.
-----------
The NFL dropped the ball and people are cheering because “Mexico lol”. The fact it came down to the very last second when literally thousands have made international travel plans to see this game only to be told the last minute that the venue changes cities to LA. Is it the right call? Yes.

That said, even allowing ther decision to come into play when you’re showcasing your billion dollar enterprise worldwide is a bad look and the people in charge of oversight of international games (if there are any) should be publicly held accountable if not at least for the passionate and loyal fans that willingly elected to follow their teams on the road to be appeased. You’re talking a few grand here per person.
----------
I wonder if the Airlines will be somewhat understanding when Chiefs/Ramsfans ask for a ticket change /refund at no cost!
----------
So am I right that the Rams get 9 home games this year and the Chiefs only 7?
-----------
No, this was a home game for the Rams. They were only going to have 7 in LA. It’s one of the complaints teams have about the international games. Specially when teams like the Patriots in all the years of these international games have never had to go, nor go and lose a “home” game.
--------------
This was the Rams’ home game they were giving up so now they both play 8 home games.

Why didn't they build a 10 inch dome over grass for the concert knowing they have a massive dollar deal w/ the NFL? protect the grass for 24hrs w/ wooden dome over grass. Seems like an easy solution, no?

Aside from the possible injury problem I also read that a number of high profile players has said they weren't going to play on an unsafe surface...Sure couldn't blame them for that, if in fact any of them did say that..Don't know for sure just something I read...Moot point now...Hopefully working in the thin air will help them go longer than usual before they really run out of gas...

I was not happy about a "home" game being played in foreign country. It reminds of the poorly thought out decisions a rapidly declining NASCAR frequently makes.

Then, to make matter even worse, the NFL proudly annouces a last second "midnight move"! Which is the kind of chicken poopery you'd expect to see during the final days of the failing USFL.

What an embarrassing disgrace.

The NFL's best days are definitely behind it.

is it strange that a league that hurls 300lb men at each other are worried about injuries from the ground?

just sayin....

Honestly though I too would be pretty ticked if I made arrangements to travel to Mexico. Feel for you guys @LARams_1963 @socalrams90. Hope the NFL reimburses ALL money lost.

I know airlines don't think this way but I would hope they would reimburse for tickets to Mexico City under the circumstances...... I'm pretty loyal to Alaska because they've broken their own rules a couple of times just to make me happy. Anyone getting reimbursed?

I'm at work but my wife called Aero Mexico and was told that for an additional $200 per person we could reschedule a trip to a destination they fly (plus any additional fees) they fly up until next July. So basicly... pound sand. I'm not done with them or the NFL yet

Clearly, they either didn't do their due diligence, or the Mexicans went rogue with the concerts.

I can't tell you how many time the Mexicans have gone rogue with their concerts.
I'm getting pretty tired of it.

This NFL is so dumb. Why don't they just use these and keep the game in Mexico? The stupidity just doesn't end.

Sportsbooks are refunding all previously placed wagers and moving the line by 1 pt in the Rams favor. That seems pretty weak for going from neutral site to home field.

If yesterday’s giants/Whiners game was the mnf being played there I wonder if the nfl gives a shit.
