IF, You were Sean McVay what changes would you be considering making to the your Offense and Defense (If, Any)? While, I don’t think a coach needs to over react due to one loss BUT to me this loss was quite disturbing!! I really think he needs to consider making some DB adjustments and hopefully try to find the Matt Stafford that he traded for and not the QB that played today (Let’s hope he got his BAD GAME FOR SEASON out of his system today!!)!!

This is the type of ass beating that leads to changes. My answer is yes.

You can't overreact to one loss. Arizona is a really good team. I think the Rams just looked passed them. It happens, as unacceptable as it is.

Morris needs to step it up though, or he won't be back.

It's not the one loss, it's the secondary coverage all year.

Long just cannot play at this level and Rapp cannot play in coverage. In a game of inches that is going to equal losses until you change it.

This was mostly covered up vs the Bears with Dalton and then against Wentz with his lack of WR's. But we all could see the easy passes given up and bad tackling by these two and others. Then with Brady we started to really see how bad it was but were saved by some key dropped passes and pressure.

Stafford will be fine, I am not worried about that. But the Defense has to make some changes.

the offense will only get better as Stafford gets more comfortable with his WRs/RBs. This is only his 4th game and the 1st time he really couldn't get on track. Give them time and before the playoffs they will be rolling. McVay just has to be more patient with what the Defense is giving him. On the other hand I'm not sure what to think about this Defense. There needs to be some changes on that side of the ball. Players and Coaches( Morris) need to be held accountable.

The trade deadline this year is Nov. 2, normally I'd doubt we'd do anything, but for a team which is definitely in the Super Bowl hunt, nothing might surprise me this season. There is plenty of time to alter course and see whether a personnel change makes any meaningful difference, we supposedly have some depth which may be worth experimenting with. Our offense is set, but the D-backs outside of Ramsey are troublesome, and if McVay/Morris lack confidence in Burgess, Rochell &/or JuJu to step up, then we may be riding Rapp and Long into an early & frustrating play-off elimination. Hopefully Rams coaches aren't handing our opposition the blueprints to defeat us.

Exactly. Go back and read the conversations and threads. Everyone was so busy riding the high of last minute heroics in the redzone by the defense they overlooked the fundamental problems the Rams have.

The sad thing here is that IF the offense hadn't turned it over 2x and had finished their own drives we would have had a great chance to win. But going forward the offense is not my concern.

Even if/after they sit Rapp it's gonna be a week too late at least. Morris talks a tough game but is he really a guy who holds his players accountable? We're gonna see. I'll say this... IF we see them trot Long and Rapp out there again Seattle is going to have a fucking BBQ in our secondary. It'll be like a fucking pig roast.

Stafford seems to have a weak arm when throwing long to DeSean Jackson. They need to fix that and get some deep threat going.

If that's the case, then I hope Kroenke is the barber. And while applying that haircut & shave, with razor in hand, he asks McVay exactly how he plans to apply his defensive scheme going forward.

I don’t think making changes after an ass whopping like they got today is over-reacting.

Morris needs to get away from this weak zone bullshit. If it takes being told, so be it they have people with talent to play tighter coverage.

I doubt that there will be any changes at all. And especially with a short week.

BUT, immediately thereafter, I'd consider doing some things a bit differently.

COACHING:
McVay needs someone in his ear reminding him not to abandon the run so quickly. Especially, when it's working and his QB is struggling. I hope he didn't hire a bunch of Yes men.

More play-action please.

Tone down that Star position just a little bit and let Ramsey lock down a target more.

PERSONNEL:

Get JR Reed back and start him or Burgess over Rapp who probably just needs play a nickel LB type role in some sets.

Give Rochelle more playing time over Long Jr. Especially against bigger WRs.

Waive Bryce Perkins (gamble on getting him to practice squad) and sign FB Ben Mason off the Patriots practice squad. The team has too much finesse and needs to be able to punch some defenders in the mouth sometimes. I was hoping upon hope that the former Stanford OLine Coach and current Rams OLine coach would push for a legit FB.

Of course, none of this will happen.

They will probably just take Anchrum off IR and waive Bobby Evans.:crying:

Dear God, yes. It looks like the Murray to Hopkins connection was feasting on any DB other than Ramsey. I think we've gotten way too cute with Ramsey. Having him play Star to just play Star instead of being matchup focused.

And that's a change that can start as early as Thur with Ramsey sticking with DK Metcalf or Tyler Locket either outside or in slot.

And speaking of Thursday, none of these stupid stunts with Floyd crashing in while SJD or Robinson loop to the outside or blitzing and having the Lewis crash in while Young has to blitz and contain on the outside. The former are not fast enough to contain and the latter just didn't seem to be in great position with that call.

Morris, MORRIS!! He can't be blamed for the offenses mistakes this game but what a turd of a gameplan on D. And I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

It’s no surprise we have been looking iffy on D when you take the best lockdown eraser corner and leave him in the slot to prove you’re the smartest guy in the room …let rapp play that close to the LOS star position . and get ramsey on his side of the field and let the rest of the D only have to defend one half of the field

The OLBs on the left tackle didn't play contain. The interior was getting owned by Hudson and company opening holes for the squirt to run through. More disciplined Spine play and some of the sacks hit home on Murray, and fewer scrambles go for big gains. It would have changed the game.

Scheme was weak. I'm hating the Morris higher. That being said I was worried about all of the Cards weapons. They are a tough team to defend. Mortis better make some scheme changes or this could become a trend.

We need to watch how the defense played Kyler Murray last year. It killed us with the 3rd and 16, 3rd and 14, 3rd and 12 amd how many others got converted. That plus the turnovers is why we lost. No turnovers, and the defense getting off the field after third and long is how we beat them.

The cards have the tough part of their schedule coming up. If we beat the she-hags this week, we're in good shape.

.

The defensive calls better change. It was sickening watching the defense let Murray convert 3rd and very longs using his feet.
