Yeaaah, I mean, I think we can reasonably assume that no matter what happens going forward we're not gonna be a top 5 unit. But I think there are marginal changes in play-calling, personnel and execution that can push us back into the top 15 - in the best case scenario - maybe even around top 10. I think we rank around 20 right now with a quarter of the season played.
You can assume that by all means.

And somehow the Panthers got Gilmore for a stale ham sandwich today.... Man he would have been a nice addition...
They paid his existing contract. Something we couldn't have done. Very simple how they got him.

I think it safe to say more snaps for these 3: Burgess, Rochell & Scott. Less snaps for Rapp unless its at ILB/hybrid role, & Long Jr.
Our DL was really bad as a group last week, we can't let that happen again. Just glad its a short week to find out where we stack up vs. the ShitHawks

Managing anything takes creativity.
I feel we need to put our players in a better position to succeed, not expect them to execute better away from their strengths.
Sure with every new system comes an adjustment period but again if that is not happening quickly enough an adjustment must take place.
It is still early enough that I don't see a need for a coaching change, that is kneejerk even if it becomes reality.
A philosophical adjustment certainly seems imminent.
I may be alone but even starting the process earlier like pre season earlier could help expedite the adjustment.....hoping for the best

Ugh. God I wish I could lay bets on your posts.
I'm not afraid to be wrong in case you were wondering and could absolutely not give a single shit if somebody feels the need to puff out their chest and quote me after the fact. I'll just laugh at them and offer up a cookie as a reward for having a great crystal ball. There's a lot of time to make adjustments and get the players up to speed. If a trap game after a huge matchup vs the defending Super Bowl Champs and before a short week travel is the defining moment for this Rams defense then all the power to you.

But throwing a dart at the board 4 weeks into a 17 game season and saying know know where our defense will rank statistically at the end of the season is just silly. But by all means I'm sure there's a Vegas sportsbook that has some odds you'd like to throw money at. I'd just assume throw darts at the board it's more realistic.

Fire Morris and get a DC that will attack not sit back like a bunch of damn pussies.

Hire John Pagano from the Broncos to be DC. I've seen his defense and the guy is incredible. His half time adjustments were very good.
The personnel on this defense are a perfect fit for how he plays his scheme.

I just texted my dad asking if his 75 year old self was going to say that next time I came over :) He's one of the Dodger fans that wasn't Roberts and Friedman fired and I just don't get it especially with Friedman.

You know, I'm not happy with Morris so far. But lets get real. Calling for him to be fired after the 4th game is total knee jerk reaction. They're weren't a stellar top 5 defense the first 3 games. But they weren't that bad either. They played well enough to win.

We'll have to see how things go during the season. I never expected another number one defense again. That is hard to maintain every year. We did lose a couple key players on defense.

We just need them to be serviceable throughout the 17 game season. And up their game in the playoffs. The offense is good enough to play with the best. One game doesn't mean the sky is falling. There will be more ups and downs over the next few months.
That’s right, snacks

Play well enough to win and they will.

More like Game of Thrones, where folks you love get their throats slit or dragons fry them in their own grease...

Here's to hoping that this finale isn't so thoroughly disappointing!

Nah, never cared much for Bran.
I guess I would rather hang out with the Kingslayer. Sure, he does awful things, including his sister, but he also has a lot more fun.. Not that sitting on the floor and hallucinating magically while Hodor stands guard doesn't sound appealing...

1. Put Ramsey on elite receivers ALWAYS.

2. Devise strategy to get Rapp closer to LOS.

3. Play more man coverage, throw away soft zone schemes.

4. Start using our rb's as receivers.

5. Stop using obvious play calling like Jackson going deep.

6. If we are going jet sweep, use players like Atwell or Jackson who can to the edge QUICK.

7. Make sure Woods and Stafford work overtime on getting in sync.

8. Throw away screen plays.

9. Get rid of the panic mentality when behind in games. If the run game is working, continue with it until they adjust. We don't need multiple td's in 5 minutes to get ahead and win games that are still in the first half.
So basically replace Morris with a Fangio type coach.

Agreed. This is my only real criticism in his tenure.
Unfortunately ,As I'm sure you know Patience usually comes with age and experience.
Almost wish he had a Wade Phillips type of offensive guy on the sidelines, just to whisper little words
of game management wisdom into McVays ear from time to time.
As a young coach it's easy, at times to let your eagerness or ego override the common sense button.

in 99 is besides the obvious player talent.
We had a gun slinging genius OC in Martz and a very wise HC who infused patience and balance
into the attack. That was what made it special, the collaboration
To this day I believe if Vermeil stays we win at least one more SB.

Just hoping the maturity comes sooner than later with McVay
