Yeah Kurt, and everyone who paid 50 bucks to watch the fight wanted their money back.

I would have waited a year to assess his I juries and if they are effecting any of his play. Obviously Philly feels he is 100%, but this guy is injury prone. Alot of money to spend on this player.

I remember seeing something on twitter last week that Wentz was playing without the knee brace during OTA's, and appeared to be back in 2017 form. Guess he really did look impressive the last couple of weeks. Doubtful they're worried much about the injury history. If it was always soft tissue injuries, then they'd probably be more concerned.

Eagles sure inflated that price jesus christ. How much are we going to afford to pay Goff? Sometimes I feel like teams like to play the money game to screw over the next guy to see if they are able to match...

Makes you wonder who will be the first 40 million dollar a year man.

Yeah it's crazy. I do think there's a point where, IF you have a top offensive mind who can develop QBs, it would make sense to draft and develop and let them walk in FA. This assumes of course you have elite evaluative ability as well.

I mean obviously the Rams are gonna pay Jared. And I want them to, because he's on the brink of ruling this league. Just saying if you're a GM of a mediocre franchise and you go get a QB whisperer maybe that's a viable plan.

Sounds good in theory but impossible in reality. How are they gonna get their hands on these qbs if they're in the playoffs? Good qbs generally don't make it out of the top 10 anymore. Teams are all over college qbs and if they're any good they're going early.

.

How high will the contracts go? 100 mil a game in ten years? Some players are already making over 2 mil a game. When will the first billion dollar a year contract be signed? 5 years? 7 years? 10 years?

I see no slowing down in contract increases. Makes me wonder how owners stay rich. (Most of them inherited their wealth).

That's a lot of cap to tie up in a QB that maybe can get you in range of the playoffs/SB but ends up riding the bench when you need him most, i.e. money time. Maybe it's just me but twice in two consecutive years bespeaks injury prone. If he starts playing to protect himself will he be the same QB? This time they don't appear to have a safety net behind him. This is a now or never all in type of move by the Eagles IMO.

That's the thing--Wentz was at his best as a dual threat. It's going to be tough for him to match that productivity being more 1-dimensional. (Goff is already successful without trying to be a running back, btw.)

Even if Carson finished this season with a Superbowl win the eagles could have probably signed him for the same amount next February. He's just 2 mil below the highest oaid player in NFL history and even with a Superbowl win he's not going to break that ceiling passing 2 future hall of gamers in rodgers and Wilson.

Should have waited to see how his injury proneness plays out this season

Simple, the players and owners take a 50/50 split of revenue. The owners only have to split their share 32 ways. Do the math.

The cap makes sure the owners make money. every extra dollar going to a qb means some other player gets a dollar less

Mahomes, Chiefs are going to throw stupid money at him and watch him come down to Earth in a few years. He's like a blue giant star, burn hot and burn fast.

Gonna be fun to watch him though.

I hear ya. I've had trolling friends tell me he's the next Robert Griffin lol. At least that's what they hope is the case.

Oh yeah, will be very interesting to see what high profile QB will be the first to get snubbed. I think you will see teams race to sign their QB's before Mahomes.

However, I have heard Andy Reid say the price you pay for a QB is irrelevant. Because if you don't have a QB then chances are you won't win anyway. So where do you draw the line? If Mahomes make 8 million more a year than Goff, that's the cost of an average player. This makes or breaks nothing, in my opinion.
