This is bad news. Cards fans were extremely upset when Maxx Williams went down, there was no one on the roster to replace him.
Good. Now there will be no excuses when the real state of things is revealed and the Rams crush them in their own house.

Good trade for Cards.
That said, can Ertz replace Williams as a blocker?

Don't see the Cards as better than before Williams injury,

They are in their small window with a young QB on a cheap deal. Once they start paying the red midget 30 million a year, they won't be able to keep all their other players.

What did the Eagles get? They have two first round picks this year already.

Hopefully the Cards lose this weekend. Browns are a good team and they're at home.

Cool your jets, people.

IIRC, Ertz has a long injury history and he's long in the tooth.

I’m not as worried about the Cardinals because at some point their deficiency at head coach is going to catch up to them. KK is a run game coordinator/OC at best. But not a head coach. Also don’t think their o line is good enough to win in January.

he has been a little bit better than last year... but at this point he is just an average tight end.

This trade was a good move... but its nothing major.

They got a rookie CB who hasn't played and a 5th round pick.

They also don't have to pay the remaining $5.5 million that Ertz is owed going forward.

A lot of people are hating on the trade the same way they hated on their AJ Green move. Ertz has more tread on the tires than Green does. And I remember Green going off against the Rams when we played them. Ertz is still a very good player, big upgrade over Williams. The Cardinals just got tougher to beat, no doubt about it.

I'm really worried about the Cardinals. More than any other team in the NFC
Cards are our biggest rival right now. It’s really not good that we lost to them.

They have a game on us and a big point lead in a tiebreaker. We need to win the NFC West to have a shot at staying at home in the playoffs. The Cards will lose games, but we have to beat them in the rematch and probably pick up another game on them to take the division and hopefully home field.

And the problem is they’re good.

It won't be a problem when we beat them and they lose more games than us.

Ertz is a quality TE. Upgrade for the Cards. Makes them stronger on O than they already are.

They're going to miss Williams' blocking a lot. Ertz isn't a guy who can move ppl like Williams could, and he was kind of emerging as a check down pass catcher.

It's a nice acquisition though. IMO he's worth a 5th.

It's amusing to me also, how the media has been regurgitating that the Rams are "all in" every off season when we here know better.

The true definition of being "All in" is the Cardinals this year. Their list of UFA's next year is a mile long because they haven't drafted well.

*starter/key contributor

*Chandler Jones
*Ertz
*AJ Green
*Maxx Williams
Dennis Gardeck
*James Conner
*Andy Lee
*Christian Kirk
Colt McCoy
Max Garcia
Corey Peters
*Robert Alford
*Chase Edmunds
And a few other depth guys who play.

And they're going to have to pay Murray. There's nothing wrong (IMO) of doing whatever you've got to do to get better and get relevant quickly...but it isn't sustainable to buy your talent via FA every year. Kudos to AZ for putting a good team together this year. What will they look like next year though?

We know what the Rams will look like next year. They will lose a few guys and there will be guys ready to step in already brought in that have been here for a year or two .

Will he play on Sunday despite having played on Thursday ? Does that risk injury?
