The Rams will attempt to compete in 2020 while spending approximately $45M of the $198M cap on players no longer on their team.
That's 23% of the Rams 2020 cap being spent on non-Rams.
Damn straight.cooks was worth every cent in 2018.
can't foretell injuries.
.
This is the part that scares me. Can we realistically be competitive this year?
We still haven't signed Ramsey or Kupp.
That sucks. More draft picks is always good but how does this affect the cap?
why does it scare you? it's only accounting.
it should make you happy because the rams will have so much more money to spend next season and in the future.
Get ready to be pissed at ESPN.Com, even if you don't read their trash....

Rams were competitive last season, 9-7, and both Cooks and Gurley non factorsThis is the part that scares me. Can we realistically be competitive this year?
And we still need to sign Ramsey and Kupp.
Wont hurtWill this help the Rams at all in extending Ramsey?
No that's not how it works. We've taken it in the shorts this offseason dumping players. So if this trade allows you to split the 21 million over 2 years and if you had kept him his cap hit this year I would assume his cap number would have been higher than 10.5 million, doesn't that mean this trade availed us some cap space for this season?
I mean got it, Cooks contract was bad, we shouldn't have extended him. Got it. But if the trade allows us to split the money doesn't that splitting give you cap relief?
