Cleveland spent the past week conducting second interviews with several candidates, speaking with Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski most recently. Sources say they plan to meet with Rams passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase early in the week, as he is among their top candidates. Scheelhaase would likely keep defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz on staff if he gets the job. Cleveland has yet to fulfill the Rooney Rule requirements, and they appear to be the only team that cannot make a hire yet.

Arizona brought in Jaguars defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile this week for a second interview, and sources say the plan is to bring in multiple candidates from Sunday’s conference finalists, as well. One those candidates is likely to be Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, the brother of Packers head coach, Matt LaFleur, and a respected coach in his own right. Mike LaFleur has already had a virtual interview with the Cardinals.

I am not crazy about this, but usually when coordinators go from the NFL to college, there is a degree of success. Smith is a tad vanilla for my liking, but vanilla is always the ice cream of choice on most sundae's.
Vanilla sundae….

Sundae….

Sunday?

I'd like to see no compensation for coaches getting poached period

Agreed. We have certainly benefited, but to me this helps the rich stay rich. No compensation. In all honesty, I don’t want any more than 32 picks a round. Everyone gets the same amount (unless traded)

I have really close friend who is a die hard Browns fan, god bless him.
His dad has some ties to the team and gets some minor inside info and is being told that there is a belief that the organization is making it known that they plan on building around Shedeur and it may be a non negotiable...
Not sure I believe it, but on the other hand I could see that totally being true

Thank You. Sincerely. I needed a good laugh this morning.

I posted comments by NFLN's Tom Pelissero last week about how in-depth the Browns are with Analytics, requiring candidates to fill-out questionnaires and write essays ... take personality tests and do home-work.

Wonder if the Browns' interviewing process had a factor in Udinski withdrawing ... it's possible.

Maybe ... Grant Udinski balked when the Browns' owners (Jimmy and Dee Haslam) took-out a measuring tape and told Udinski to un-zip his fly. Maybe Udinski's issue was that Jimmy insisted on doing the measurement.

You Don't Know! ... It's Possible!!!

Scheelhaase to the Browns, please and thank you for the compensatory thirds!
IDK, I have a feeling they will just go with Jim Schwartz because the team likes him and the defense is very good. Then Schwartz will find an OC and maybe they will look for a veteran to bring in. Would they lose Schwartz, if they hire Scheelhaase? that is the question. If they can keep Schwartz, hire Scheelhaase and then sign Jimmy Garoppolo, that could work too.

This sounds exactly like something the Browns would do.

it’s tough to bitch about a NFC Championship loss, when there are teams like the browns, that continue to dig themselves into an abyss.
