Amos Jones, Bob Wylie among the many Browns coaches not returning
Posted by Charean Williams on January 9, 2019

Gregg Williams wasn’t the only coach shown the door by new Browns coach Freddie Kitchens on Wednesday. The team’s ninth full-time head coach cleaned house.

Quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese, special teams coordinator Amos Jones, offensive line coach Bob Wylie, linebackers coach Blake Williams, assistant defensive backs Jerod Kruse, tight ends coach Greg Seamon, assistant defensive backs coach Jerod Kruse, offensive quality control coach Brian Braswell, offensive assistant Bob Saunders, assistant offensive line coach Mark Hutson, defensive quality control coach Eric Sanders, assistant special teams coach Sam Shade and special teams assistant Josh Cribbs won’t return next season, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Just saw this on NFL.com that according to Ron Rapoport the NY Jets are finalizing a deal to make Adam Gase their brand new Head Coach.
Heh.....Gase had a 5 - 1 record against the Gang Green as HC of the Miami Dolphins so I guess the J-e-t-s are figuring this move is worth at least two more wins per year.
Guess every little bit helps........

Jets land Adam Gase
Posted by Mike Florio on January 9, 2019

The cross-pollination of the AFC East continues.

The same division that saw Bill Belichick jump from the Jets to the Patriots and Rex Ryan bounce from the Jets to the Bills now has another head coach staying in the quartet of rivals.

ESPN reports that the Jets will hire Adam Gase as the franchise’s next head coach.

Gase, who spent three years with the Dolphins, became the clear choice after Matt Rhule decided to stay put at Baylor. And Gase, who also was considered by the Cardinals and Packers, will inherit the franchise quarterback he never had in Miami, giving him the opportunity to develop Sam Darnold, who has shown that he can indeed become one of the better young quarterbacks in the game.

Gase led the Dolphins to the playoffs in 2016; the next two seasons were dragged down by a torrent of adversities.

And so Gase, who was fired by Stephen Ross, will now coach the team Ross once tried to buy. Gase also will get a chance to stick it to the Dolphins twice per year. Regardless of who emerges victorious in those games, we all win.

Wow, that is a complete purge.

I didn't see anyone comment on Kubiak.

So . . . Heyyyy, Kubiak's back.

Win a SB for a franchise as HC, retire because of health concerns, come back as OC after your replacement at HC gets fired. Not the typical career arc.

Winning a chip with Peyton Manning's broken down ass was a pretty neat trick (sure, Wade's dominating defense helped). Let's see what he can do with Case.

So if Fangio/Kubiak do well, will we see the reverse McVay effect next year? Hire old guys to turn the team around?

I think Greg Williams would make an excellent coach for the Jets. I mean, who wouldn't love seeing Williams have to interact with New York media and fans. It's a match made in hot take media heaven.

No kiddin lmao and every press conference would be an adventure. I've always liked GDub's style, dude is no-nonsense and uses expletives in place of conjunctions. My kinda dude. :rolllaugh:

Not a popular hire in these parts and I know I'm alone on this, but if he can bring in a good DC it's a hire that I think could work quite well.

I think McVay is a unique HC, but to hire his protege's who did not really create the Rams offense, smacks of desperation by these teams. It is flattering towards McVay and the Rams, but I think these teams will get burned trying to duplicate McVay's success...

This desperate copycat shit annoys me. It's almost as annoying as phone makers copying dumb shit that doesn't need to be copied like no headphone jack and annoying "notches" on screens.
