Do we burn $65 million and 5 years of development because of McVay's two-man route concepts, and Sneads inability to draft a Center?

I was really banging the board for a center and would rather have that pick than Hopkins right now

Yup. You don't think the Rams are going to restructure him this off-season then trade him the minute they do? That's what I would be doing. They did the same thing to tavon
Can't, his dead money is bonuses already paid to him. He is going nowhere this yr and i would hope they would br smart enough to realize the offense has many issues right now and its not all on Goff.

Listen to this week's McVay podcast. Snead sat in for him. There was not a hint of disappointment from Snead in regards to Goff. Even pointed out how many 3rd & longs Goff converted on Sunday and how they can't be in that position...meaning there are issues with the offense that is causing that.

He looked at it as a bad 7 days, previous Sunday to this past Sunday.... Jets/Seahawks.

So i don't get any impression that they are bailing on Goff anytime soon.

BTW, I have seen it mentioned that the fact that Wolfferd & Perkins are mobile, that means McVay wants a mobile QB. Snead actually mentioned that McVay identified a need for a back up is to be mobile since when they may be called on to play, that they likely won't have total command of the offense nor top level ability, so having the ability to tuck it and run when something breaks down is critical... And can be an advantage for a guy put in that position.

I think they trade for stafford. They might have to give up a late pick too. But I think this will be a big rumor this off-season
hmmmm. interesting but still need a deep threat and better OC.

I dont know about that. Sounds like heresay to me. McVay didnt see the need to upgrade Sean Mannion, and Blake Bortles is pretty athletic yet that didnt earn him any favors. Also had little success with RGIII in Washington, opting for more Goff like Cousins

The one taken by Dallas? Has he done anything?
I looked him up and it is TylerBiadasz and he has had a hamstring injury the last 4 games but he is listed as the starting center.

I am not sure how well he has played though.

Well that sure is light years ahead of how much Hopkins has played. IIRC he was a guy that many had mocked to the Rams in earlier rounds. So good call. The Hopkins pick has been puzzling. With Higbee being injured most of the year, Everett at the end of his tenure and Mundt just being an all around JAG, its a real head scratcher that he has only been active in 4 games and only sees snaps at ST. For a guy who was allegedly a TE guru in Washington, McVay hasnt seemed to duplicate that success here.

For those wanting Goff out, could you elaborate on who to bring in and how to address the other positions.

now that the cap # are out i know of no one that wants goff gone next year. as far as other positions that depends on the wolfman performance if he seems like a good back up with starter potential then i like a center with first pick then a rb then bpa after that,. if the wolfman does not work out then we should draft a qb with our first pick. i know every one wants a burner wr but i just think of jerry rice and don't know that a 4.3 guy is necessary. of course these are just my hopes and i'm sure i get none these right.

We could have drafted center Lloyd Cushenberry in the 3rd round instead of Terrell Lewis... Cushenberrry has started every game for Denver.
Yeah but the Rams DC was probably really banging the board for Lewis so I can see why they passed up Cushenberry. But you are right, I would rather have Cushenberry or Biadesz than Lewis or Hopkins. I was so upset when they didn't take either one.

I said to myself - GREAT!! Now we have to live with Blythe as center. I sure hope they know what they are doing.

Quite frequently, going for the athlete is not better than going for the dependable guy.

The problem there is, nobody is starting day one. McVay has started Kupp on offense as a rookie and that's it. It took Akers most of the year to start and he was clearly our best option. I doubt he starts a 2nd round center, but I agree an upgrade is needed.

With regard to Akers, keep in mind that we had a very abridged offseason which very likely set him back some. And he still was playing early on, but ended up getting hurt, setting him back even more.

In addition, I have called Blythe's blocks as OLE so often now that I will now only refer to him as the Matador.

Sorry - I shouldn't name call but damn - so many OLE blocks.

Some of you don’t remember what it was like to choose between Kyle Boller and Keith Null, and it shows.

If you believe in PFF rankings, which is always a debate around here, Blythe is rated at 68.1 with the third most snaps played at 1,047, only one penalty and just four sacks allowed. Bedazzled is rated at 53.5 with just 427 offensive snaps, four penalties and one sack allowed. Thats all the free information I can get. Not really much of a difference...

Goff isn't going anywhere. We all know the kid can straight up dazzle Rams fans when he has the tools around him. His ceiling is plenty high.....what concerns me is that I never realized his floor could be as low as has been recently. The turnovers are just brutal.....and doofy. Like.....I find myself saying WTF??? to the TV every week it seems with some of his blunders. All we need is a game manager with this defense, and he is more than capable of that.....just STOP. TURNING. THE. BALL. OVER!!!!!

I don't personally believe in PFF and it's not the sacks that Blythe gives up because Goff despite his mobility limitations is quite good at getting the ball out before he gets sacked.

It's the pressures that Blythe gives up.
