Are there any QBs actually WORTH being a Top 10 pick? Richardson or Stroud?

Not to me. I like a few of them and would potentially take one if I were those teams when my pick came up. But none are even close to trade up QBs. Teams never learn. But the desperation to find a franchise QB is too enticing I guess.

I’m getting better with QB’s as last year called that pretty accurate and the year before.

Stroud to me is going to be a beast, Richardson is a real good cómp to Lamar Jackson with similar traits and abilities.

Hell of a trade for both franchises and a good one for both. I’d rather trade DJ Moore and keep draft capital than to pay him tbh.

And they didn’t give up the classic 3 1st’s and a second and more. Reich starts fresh with a new young QB of his choosing and gets to surround him with talent for 3 years. That sounds like Carolina is going somewhere in the NFC south now.

Hell of a trade for the Bears too. They just added a weapon without it being draft day or FA for Fields, very curious to see who potentially falls to them at 9, or do they trade down again if their target blue chip isn’t there?

Many comparable same level players in this deep draft.

Have to think Bears know that there will be 2-3 blue chippers there at 9. Can't imagine they trade down more. Word has been that draft has some deep spots but 1st round blows and maybe - MAYBE - 15 guys with a 1st round grade at most.

That is prime real estate to pick up one of the top LT’s in the draft either Paris Johnson or Peter Skoronski. If they get one they have 2 bookends to grow with Fields and a weapon without giving up much of anything.

He’s doing good that GM they have.

Two years ago they tried and failed to trade for Stafford
Last year the same with Watson
They seem to have gotten their guy this year

Honestly, if I was the Panthers I'd be dangling this pick for a trade down to HOU or IND. Could turn this trade into recouping the picks they gave up and still get one of the top 3 QB's, some believe there is a top 4 too. I mean if HOU calls them and says they want to trade up to assure getting Young and CAR likes Richardson, why not do it?

What happens to Sam Donald? Trade to the 9ers.
He's a FA.

Smart move by the Bears. Panthers are crazy to give up so much. A+ for the Bears, I say a C- for the Panthers.....like I know what I'm talking about :laugh1:
I totally disagree completely

Bears are now at #9 not remotely as good as #2 or #4.

2nd rd #61 a late 2nd not great.

They traded in the NFC mistake

2024 #1 - here is where I really hate this in context of wating until after the pro days when the frenzy would happen. The Painters were 7-10 and trending upwards they almost made the playoffs. Next year they realistically make the playoffs. If they win one playoff game they that pick the Bears got is now in the high 20s. Versus Houston/Indy even the Raiders all AFC teams and most not likely making the playoffs so the pick would have been way higher. TB is 50m over the cap and no Brady, David, LT, NO is 59m over and ATL has no QB.

DJ Moore is good not convinced on him.

2025 #2 my guess it won't be high.

Poles needed to exercise more patience because the only 2 things in this deal he can control is draft position in 2023 and DJ Moore. I would have an INSTEAD taken the #4 pick and got a guaranteed generational talent.

Stroud is the guy I like best. But none of them have me confident about their future. I wouldn’t take him #1 OA.
After Stroud, I’m not sure any are worth a top 10-15 pick.

They literally still have a top 10 pick this year and could possibly have another next year. That's some draft capital. Top of the draft doesn't guarantee generational talent although the chances are higher. Greg Robinson and Jason Smith agree with me.....ok that made my chest hurt

If Fields continues to develop in the passing game it's a huge move for Bears. GM is either going to be a genius in a couple of years or an idiot.

Edit: Course with that amount of draft capital if Fields sucks this year they have the ammo to move up in 24 and get another QB. So as long as they don't draft terrible it's a win win for Bears.

And if Fields doesn't work out you've got a pretty good receiver to pair with an incoming rookie QB. One thing all the young successful QBs have had in the last few years is a stud WR to be paired with. One wonders what would have happened if the Bengals went with Sewell over Chase. Having Chase let Burrow spam the easy button at times which made his development that much easier.

You’re fucking heading right on the head! Personally, as I’ve stated here multiple times, I think Fields is a good QB, he just needs a good team behind him and his coaches ( as they’ve said) are going to start peeling him back from running as much.

If they get him a running back and beef up that line watch out.

Shit I’d draft a Lamar clone top 10.

Stroud has the one value I covet the most in a QB, fast and great decision making ability. Dude has an amazingly fast processor and that trumps all the other overblown traits most basic fans know.

Should have at least got another pick this yr. Even a 4th rounder that they could use to move up of they wanted to.

Just seems like dropping 8 picks in the top 10, gets you more than a 23' late second, 24' 1st, and 25' 2nd. And DJ Moore will need to be paid soon I believe.

They should flip Moore for some picks.
