I’m confused about this cash and cap thing. Every NFL team has the same salary cap. What does the owners net worth have to do with anything?

It's the guaranteed money. I have heard recently they have to have the money up front for that in an account

Yeah, I think AD will be more likely to see the end of this contract whereas I think Mack will end up in a situation similar to Suh, especially since the owner was thought to be in questionable health 8 years ago.

The new owners might have a different perspective on his contract.

Also, and this can’t be understated, if the NFL doesn’t have a plan to help the networks monetize digital streaming, based on the advertising monies that have been lost due to a drop in traditional viewership (digital streaming is up enough that overall viewership is likely up a fair bit), the next tv deals will be equal or less than they are now and some of these contracts will be untenable.

While it's likely true that the NFL should try to catch up to MLB in digital streaming (although they may be concerned of reducing TV money if they do) it's also true that while TV viewership is down - the value per viewer is way, way up. Advertisers pay much more to appear on sports broadcasts than on regular tv. I suspect tv contracts will keep going up for a while, since advertisers have trouble finding such broad, captive audiences anywhere else. I don't think it will be an issue for Donald's or Mack's contracts. They should be looking for small scale streaming though, to better see what they can do without cutting into network revenues.

It's the working capitol that the Raiders have in the bank. There was an article of the Rams had 360 Million or something around that amount in the bank IIRC. Not anymore of course.

I can't even fathom that Trotter tweet. Doesn't even make sense on Mars. What were we gonna pay him with, thoughts and prayers?!?

More like Cleveland Still East of Center.

In what universe is Chicago in the West?
It was in the 17th, 18th, and the early part of the 19th centuries when the "west" started in Ohio....lol

Seems the NFL understands the need. Can they figure it out before the current CBA ends? I dunno.

I do know that if the owners even hint at a lockout as the end comes close, the end result will hurt all involved.
