Mannion has chemistry with y’all very receiver on this team and from all the talk this year in OTA’s it’s been all about chemistry. I think they showcase Mannion in preseason as potential trade bait but if nothing good comes along then he’s your number 2. After this year though it’s a different story but as we saw last year if you have a good team you can win the Super Bowl even if your starter goes out if you have trust in your number 2. The way I see it your number 2 qb is the 2nd most important position to have covered

Is it just me, or does the ball seem to come out of Allen's hand a little weird???

Yeah and it seems to jump out of his hand. Which is strange because he's not a "strong armed" guy. I think he has some sort of wrist snap thing going or something at the top of his release.

Interesting point there Dx. Then again, trying to feature Mannion for a trade might be a waste of time, given that film he put up in last year's game vs SF. Sometimes a team will need a backup early on, so it's possible, but I don't know that the Rams would actively try to showcase him.

I think the Rams simply keep the guy who plays better in preseason as their backup. And whoever wins might also get a contract offer, seeing as how both are end of season FAs.

@Soul Surfer all I know is that I like his play. I absolutely was not down on him at all. Just like @Merlin said, there seems to be something quirky about his release. But hey! It could be the quality of the video. If not, then if it works for him, cool beans man.

I don't think that's what we saw, or what the NFL sees. The Eagles were in an incredibly fortunate position to have had Foles in the Fray, they don't win with Sudfeld. No the majority of the league is still all in on their starting QB, heck New England basically played without one for a game last year. If last year showed anything its that "if" you are going to lose your #1, you may have a shot to be competitive "if" your back up qb has a good bit of experience, has started a good amount of games. Rams don't have that

Just ragging on you Ramit.
I haven't even looked at any video of Allen.

It basically is. Foles was absolutely terrible with us because he was in the wrong situation if you have an above average team and your 2nd string qb can make the plays that’s there to make then you can win. They had the defense and run game not to mention their receiving weapons it was the perfect situation for Foles. That’s basically all I’m conveying here with the Rams all we need is a competent back up that can make the plays that’s there and protect the ball whether that’s Mannion or someone else.

Foles is the real deal and so is Case Keenum.
They just got fisherised.

Nobody should be fisherised.

It's probably worse than we can even imagine.

potenial v history.
Same conversation over again.
Saying one guy has a history of playing and one does not is not attacking Mannion. It is just a fact.
Mannion has shown next to nothing when he has played. But it is unfair to judge him on such a small sample size.
If McVay and the QB coaches like him that's good enough for me.
You know what I saw against the last game vs the whiners? I saw Mannion hitting players in the numbers and the receivers dropping the balls. He has a tendency to throw too hard sometimes, and needs to develop a sense of “touch” particularly when throwing short passes. However, overall I think we aren’t giving him as much leeway as even Goff received for the most part. He has a pretty decent arm and his accuracy should improve should he get some time with the “ones”. Just my views...

Plenty of skill players in that game, and a QB who checked down constantly. Keep in mind we are talking about one of the worst defenses in football he was playing against. He was terrible in the game, I get that its hard to see with orange and black colored glasses on, but to the unbiased it was obvious.
His best pass of the day (Which counted as a catch and shouldn't have) made up almost 1/3 of his total yards in the game
It was a Cleveland Browns QB type game.
So we'll see. McVay didn't go out and get a new QB which says a lot.
Many dropped balls in that game. He throws ‘em but he doesn’t catch ‘em too!

the Mannion issue is kinda of a no brainer to me. He is on the last year of his rookie contract and to me there is no way i see the Rams resigning him, and if they do, it will be a sign and trade. No money in Ramville for a backup QB

Yeah.
He gets an incomplete grade.
He was check down a lot vs the Whiners.
But I doubt the coaches even had a full game plan on or even a normal week of practice with so many backups. Zero chance of chemistry for the QB in particular.

I honestly feel like Foles was OK with us until Clay Matthews tried to end his life with one of the most blatantly dangerous infractions I have ever seen (without a flag I might add). He was never the same after that and our OLine was a bunch of matadors, so I can't blame him much...

You may be able to throw in that it was a garbage game, nothing on the line, with all focus on the following week's playoff game. This may have affected the play of Mannion a bit, not to mention the whole team.

P.S. I know it was the fricking 9ers, so please don't give me grief from my garbage game comment. I'm just pointing out something is all...

The Eagles won because of Foles. Because he is far more than just a compentent back up.
The Eagles winning with him doesn’t show that any good team can with their backup. Far from it. They had an nfl veteran backup, a former pro bowl qb in fact there to take over.
The Rams and most teams don’t have that.
Oakland, Green Bay, Houston, Indianapolis all showed us what happens to most teams when their #1 goes down

All of those teams are reliant on just their QBs. Foles knew the system and got hot at the right time because of the complete make up of that team. I’m not saying any number 2 can lead a team but when the team is as solid and strong as our team is and as the eagles team was then all you need is a solid number 2. The teams you mentioned didn’t have that in place because they was too reliant on their starters

Got to earn and prove you deserve to play with the #1 OL first.
He had a big chance to show what he's got against the 49ers and he failed
He didn’t play behind the entire offensive line and definitely didn’t play with the same weapons. The coaches was just trying to get out that game can’t see how you can really base anything off of that
