So 11 pages over a fake rumor. Its not even a legit rumor that the Vikings were even interested.
Swell.

Hes appreciated. Just not as a starter.
Do you really want him to anchor our C position for the next 3-4 years?
I known I don't.
I would prefer to have someone there that's as solid as Sullivan was.
Sully wasn't putting up HOF play, but he was better than Blyth.
It's really not a lot to ask for.
Blythe is having a solid NFL career. He's making money and playing football.
For that. I am happy for him.
Nobody hates him.
So 11 pages over a fake rumor.
Swell.
i feel like it's similar to a pump and dump on the stock market and we will be the ones left holding the bag, ie - blythe coming back as starting centre.
.
so you think McSnead fell for it?
If he really was a key priority, they wouldn't have let him stay on the market.
Maybe I misunderstood... I thought you said the last 3 OC from UW, which I presumed you were talking about Mason Cole as one of the 3 that the original poster mentioned with Shelton.
If you didn't imply that, then my apologies
The rumor might be fake, but this appears true.
He's an unrestricted free agent, I'm sure he's checked in with many teams. As to a direct connection to the Vikings? Just one rando twitter poster's guess, and here we are 12 pages laterThe rumor might be fake, but this appears true.
Save nothing with Demby because someone else takes his roster spot that will at least make $700KHow much money is Austin Blythe asking from the Rams?
How much have they offered.....if they've offered anything?
Here's the 2021 cap hits for the offensive lineman on the roster. (I rounded up)
17.5 mil for these 5
Whitworth 5.7 mil
Edwards 0.9 mil
Allen 1.1 mil
Corbet 1.5 mil
Havenstein 8.3 mil
I wonder how that stacks up with the NFL average?
4.7 mil for these 5
Evans 1.1 mil
Anchrum 0.8 mil
Shelton 0.9 mil
Noteboom 1.1 mil
Brewer 0.8 mil
22.2 mil for those 10 guys......I wonder how that stacks up with the NFL average?
Demby 0.8 mil.....so we're going to save that much when he's released.

Okay, true. But if the Rams really wanted Blythe, if he was such a valued OL, how much money would it take? Has he visited other teams? Maybe. Probably. Has he received offers? Maybe.
What did he make last year on that 1 year deal?
Maybe they've offered him the same? Maybe less? Maybe nothing.
I don't think anyone is calling these transitions easy, but McVay does emphasize cross-training, perhaps more than a lot of other Head Coaches. Even Meinerz, who is being heralded as a potential leading Center candidate will require cross-training.
Per Locked on Rams podcast, Minnesota did express interest in Austin Blythe. They may be interested in him as a Guard and not necessarily at Center....
ROFL$3.9 million.
that's $100k per second he kept the rusher off the qb on 3rd downs for the whole season combined.
.
I can see him being a decent back-up guardIs that Podcast any good or is it some fans throwing crap on the walls?
He is hired to do the job and "Locked On _______" exists for every NFL team as far as I know. Dude enunciates to almost a ridiculous degree but I am sure that he is just trying to be understood well online. He covers the Rams, but isn't that much of a homer, like @Merlin ....Is that Podcast any good or is it some fans throwing crap on the walls?
