I'm already considering Hill as a goner just because we've officially entered the new season and he's no longer on the team. Fox went cheaper than I expected and am surprised the Rams wouldn't match his salary, he'd have expanded on his previously limited snaps with Brockers now gone and his stat line would have grown because of it, now 5T is that much more critical. If they sign a vet Center, I do care who it is, and he better not be named Blythe, and now that we've remained out of the Lindsley/Hudson sweepstakes, the draft is looking more and more probable for a future Center. My question is if we remain 'in-house', who starts on opening day 2021 ? Corbett, Allen, Shelton ?

If that restructure number is correct at about 7.6 and we can restructure Stafford. That opens up 21-24 million in cap. We can do some stuff with that. You could put aside your rookie money and pick up 2-3 prove its or possibly depending on attitude and want a Gallowday and a prove it maybe. My point if Stafford can be done that opens a chunk to address some needs.

My thinking with Gallowday is he knows he would have to share a lot of balls here so while he would love Stafford how can he really sign a prove it if ball so spread? Either way I'd want that cap and let them do what they think is best.

What hurts with my Blythe jokes is that we all know and fear there is an element of truth. Blythe must have some incriminating pics on McSnead...

Funny, that same thought keeps popping up with me too. I don't get it.

Since the Rams are limited financially by the cap I’d like to see them bringing in someone like Marvin Hall who can probably be had for close to the veterans minimum.

This forum should start getting their heads around Blythe returning. I'd say its more likely than not.
I think people forget that McVay's high standards have benefits. The guy jettisoned a young QB because he was not developing to the extent he wanted. Do you really think he'll accept the film Blythe put up?

PFF has this wrong. The Rams know who Blythe is IMO. If he does return it'll be as a depth type but that is unlikely because Blythe probably won't get another chance to get paid like this. He might be able to ride those BS grades to a contract with a team that has a shitty front office.

Is anyone opposed to bringing back Reynolds with a vet min contract if he's still out there by minicamp?

Depends what they get in the draft. If they pick up someone who can take the top off a defense, then I don't think I want Reynolds to steal snaps.

RoC I think that all the guys who don't move the bar are the types who need to go in FA. You can replace those types very easily. There will be some like Mundt that maybe you keep just to ensure your depth isn't too bad. But overall I think replacing those guys with other cheap JAGs is the team's approach.

Reynolds brought size but it never really translated to the field. So you can replace him with whoever they draft. Might be a slot or maybe they get lucky and a dev X or Z type gets to them. Either way I think the WR is good they just need to add some speed that they can develop and maybe help us down the stretch.

Nice job, only a couple areas I might alter some :

While Akers likely can handle some short yardage work, I'd prefer to save his body from unnecessary torment and would like to see a big short yardage specialist and quality blocker added. Akers is going to be our workhorse, lets keep him healthy for the long haul.

Evans starting at RG is quite worrisome for me and we may already have better alternatives on the roster.

Aaron Donald isn't getting any younger, and while I like Robinson, SJD & Gaines for most of the interior work, a quality 5T DE with a known ability to pass rush can absorb some of those double/triple teams which Donald must endure regularly. If the Rams can upgrade on Fox, the entire defensive front 7 will become more dangerous.

My order of concern :

C
DE
CB
ILB
#4 WR
HB
TE
Edge

jmo.

I still lol at all the outside the box thinking. Some not far fetched,so I’ll
add to it.

My point is until there is an indicator it’s not really truth. We as Fans don’t know what exactly goes on behind closed doors. McSnead always give certain tips on the direction the Rams are going.I think Mcvay & Les stay on point.

I don’t agree on a couple things, but will feed into a bigger back ?? Could The Rams use a FB ? Everett lined up
in that spot a couple times last season.
—Now that I delayed with this post Johnny Mundt just resigned. It takes the thought of a FB away, because of one less roster spot & Johnny plays special teams.

It will be a mistake to start the season with Blythe at C. It simply doesn’t play into protecting their new gunslinger. And there is little chance that a rookie C at Round 2.57 or later would be able to start at center. So I’m interested in seeing what Plan B is.
Kromer's plan might have been to go with Blythe again in 2021 & was resolute about it..........McVay could have had enough. McVay knows he needs a deep pocket for his QB to step up into provides that second or two to utilize the entire field to have the mediate to long pass plays return to his playbook for utilization, instead of just the rerun & never changing very predictable & short 5 to 10 yd pass patterns. Blythe was never going to give McVay's QB room to step up into. So we will see..........

Now a month or so later we have two new OL coaches. Blythe is NOT under contract. Snead has two interior primary centers on his 2021 built roster in Coleman Shelton & Brian Allen. Allen will enter his 4th Ram TC & Shelton will be entering his 4th NFL TC & his 2nd Ram TC. Snead mentioned Allen & the issues in his successful rehabbing from a severe knee injury two yrs ago as being his biggest monster to fight.

Most here have such a negative opinion of the 2019 version Allen after Kromer placed him in a bad situation having never seen any regular-season action his rookie season then starting in his 2nd season with only bench experience. If that was not bad enough Kromer stuck Allen in between three virgin starting OG's (Demby/ Blythe/ Noteboom):zany:. What could go wrong went wrong.:explode:

Presently Ram Centers Shelton & Allen are no longer rookies or inexperienced with both entering their 4th seasons. It will be 2 yrs from the time we saw Allen when this upcoming season starts. Whomever our new center is will have two experienced OG's (Corbett/Edwards) starting beside him also. So the interior OL situation is much better in 2021 than it was in 2019.
