John Lynch...is my kinda player...I like head hunting safeties....It's how the game was played back then....Key piece to that Lovie defense...I actually hoped Craig Dahl was gonna be like him...I hope John Johnson turns into that type of player and tackler...not the head hunting stuff (couldn't hurt in big games thobut Lynch has never been in an NFL office.
I always thought Lynch was a bit of a dirty player, more than a bit actually. He speared players and hit the head a lot. His signature move was a forearm to the head.
Not sure about York.....he probably never wanted to "own" an NFL team....I think he gets it now after firing Harbaugh....for no good reason..Does it matter that the NFL itself has been sincere and upfront about teams not skipping past entire pools of talent to keep fishing out of the same pond over and over?
It doesn't. Because the owners always have the final say.
This owner’s final say was that John Lynch was good enough for him, experienced or not.
All of you who were told experience not only mattered, but was mandatory, because they really wanted the “most qualified” candidate?
It doesn't matter. It's not what they want. They want who they want. This time, it was the guy who had never done anything like it before.
That’s the only rule to remember … that there are no rules.

Lynch the player....definitely is someone you'd want on your sideline....SS by nature....1999....he was a beast at Tampa....think he gave Marshall some huge hits in that NFC Championship game...and help hold an offense we all thought was unbeatable to less than 3 scores....what was that game? 9-6???? I bet this game gave Belichick the blueprint on how to contain the GSOT.

Man.....11 points....versus Shaun King....at home. Looking at the boxscores....Barber is going to the HOF...side note...my buddy went to HS with Hardy Nickerson...surprised no one talks about him.
Ricky Proehl was a beast!
Lynch seems to be doing ok....Shanahan knows how to move the damn ballball:....Don't know about the owner
....and Jimmy G. hasn't lost a football game...ever
...coincidence???? Maybe....maybe not....Glad we play them to get a looksie.

They haven't secured anything, he's a free agent, and if there is one thing we know it's that QB contracts in free agency are out of whack and teams will overpay if they only need a QB to "get in the mix". Cousins will likely set the market with Garrapollo right behind him.
AZ, DEN, NYG, NYJ, BUF, DEN and who knows who else, possibly INDY will be in the hunt this offseason. I'm betting the Giants and Broncos dangle big coin to lure a FA QB. I can see those two teams offering the biggest QB contract ever to get Cousins.
There is no assurance he resigns with the 49ers. They can franchise him but that's a big check to write for a couple of years.
It's going to be interesting to see which teams will gamble on a rookie for the future and which teams will go get Cousins, Garrapollo, and all the rest of the big name free agents.
I can see it, as long as they resign Garoppolo.. They need to get him inked before he hits the open market though, because if other teams are allowed to bid he's going to get a much higher payday I'm sure.
So I hope that they don't, and are either stuck without a QB (because he's done just enough to push them out of that top QB draft spot) or they have to overpay to have the 3rd best QB in the division.
I've watched a lot of Garappolo (Directv Sunday ticket) since he took over the starting job and quite frankly I am very concerned as to what I've observed. He has an excellent and very accurate arm. He moves well in the pocket and considering he had no OTAs or TC with his receiver corps he looks very comfortable throwing to them.
Heck Garcon is out injured but some dude named Goodwin is putting up huge numbers so there's that.....I mean they beat a Titan team that was desperate for a win to keep their playoff hopes alive and Garappolo looked like a seasoned veteran especially in the 4th quarter.
Bottom line is I really, really, hope the Whiners screw it up and let this kid walk. But after investing a 2nd rounder in him I highly doubt Lynch and crew are that dumb.
P.S. BTW the TE jerry32 liked so much, George Kittle, is also looking very good. He and Garappolo seem to be in sync and are connecting on a lot of plays.
Just sayin'

Jimmy G. and the Whiners dominating Jacksonville like very few have this season. I'm glad we don't have to win next week because they are currently on a roll.
