1) Isn't there a rule about having x player's lined up on the LOS and how does this picture demonstrate compliance?
2) If jalen is on top of other players, when is he down and how is he allowed to continually squirt forward? He often gets the 1st after a second effort. (happened today)
3) If jalen is allowed to body surf for the first why have none of the times the defense has stripped the ball been called a fumble

The center can't be lined up over the ball like that it's a penalty
Add to that every time half their line or more jumps
Neither are ever called

Can't wait for it to be banned in the off season.
Yeah, I'm done with that shit. It needs to go the way of the hack-a-Shaq.

My view of the tush push has traditionally been that it's up to the defense to stop it, so I opposed banning it. That said, if the refs aren't going to call the play fairly, they should ban it. As I see it, the options are ban it or call penalties from the booth if the refs on the field won't do it. When the Eagles are false starting every single time and getting away with it because the refs can't see the ball, it's cheating.

OP, to answer your question, not all those guys are on the LOS. Three are off the LOS. As for them letting Hurts off the hook for fumbling, it is BS. If he wants to body surf, wriggle for yards, and reach the ball out, he should have to pay the price. He was still fighting for yards when Kobie (IIRC) ripped it out. Should have been a fumble.

I wished they would allow it to be reviewable for all of the above and to include false starts and/or other penalties. The sideline refs can't see s$$$ from 10 yds away because they are so bunched up.

when is the play dead? when is Jalen considered down? He reaches with the ball and I have seen it grabbed, why no fumble?
Could a D send players after the ball, the landman punch?
The officiating of the lining up and subsequent snap is only part of the issue as I see it albeit a critical part.
Like Jrry I originally was in the it's up to the D to stop it camp but we have migrated far from that.

If the play was whistled dead, that was a fair call. If it was not then that was a live ball and a BS call by the refs.

I don't remember hearing a whistle and don't have access to replay rn.

The whistle was blown before the strip from what I saw/heard.
That was it.
He wasn't down because his knee, hip, elbow etc were not down, but, forward progress stopped and they the blow the whistle.
Its the false starts that irritate me.

.

I just looked at it again. Verse ripped the ball out before a whistle was blown. Disgusting.

Its not football, its a Rugby play. Get rid of it.
Can you imagine how impotent the Eagles would be without their vaunted Butt Fuck Push ?
Maybe Hurts likes big burly strong men pushing on his ass ?

I'm not for banning a legal play. But the announcers kept saying Oh well, it's hard to officiate. How hard is it to spot a false start? I've never even seen an ass push get called for a false start even though replays show it happens more often than not. Somehow the ref saw through a pile of bodies to call an inconsequential to the play holding call against Shelton that negates a Rams TD and we had to kick a short FG.
