With their #1 pick, I am really hoping for Best Available at an impact position ... LT, Edge, WR, CB
Agree except I’d like a proven Edge via trade/FA. FA/Donald/Turner/ Hoecht/Young looks like a nice front 5 for next year.

Looks great other than Hoecht. Should be a rotational DE not an edge at all.

I wouldn't mind Jackson at guard or even right tackle, if we end up dealing Havenstein (not saying it as a certainty, just an option). He's been a steal of an undrafted free agent, and fully deserves an extended contract.

Not a very good center class. Sedrick Van Pran Granger is the only blue chip one. Bryce Foster is a big solid run-blocker, but his pass-blocking sucks.

Tackles and guards are deep. My choice is Cooper Beebe (late second or early third). He's playing LT for K-State, but he's only going to be a guard at the next level. I love his tape more than I do a lot of the other top tackles.
Sedrick Van Pran looks pretty good but there is also some other pretty good ones.
Oregons Powers-Johnson (my choice)
WVY Zach Frazier
I suspect OT bust rates are among the best in round one for one reason: they are drafted as shots at LT but can sometimes end up being RT. So it isn't always a total loss.

Modern collegiate offenses definitely have hurt the position, but you gotta get the best ones up high. There is a basic human size supply and demand issue to deal with here.

Same. His posts are long, but always with well-thought intentions behind them, and you could tell he knew his stuff.

Alaric with 2 solid weeks in a row.

He’s only 25 and in his first full season starting at LT in NFL.

Season is long. Will be interesting to evaluate him after the end of it... or in one week. This is a message board.

Totally.. I like to see where he’s at, though.

His season long grade ain’t great… but, like the team.. he’s had his best 3 games in a row.

Hard to know how much early season injury impacted his performance.

I’m so invested in this particular player because if you get a solid LT from a UDFA… huge win.

Here in New York, Parcells is mostly loved and universally held in very high regard.

I thought he was a terrific coach, pompous asshole and poor personnel man.

He famously said (when leaving the Giants where GM George Young had final say on personnel matters) ...
"If they want you to cook the meals, they should let you buy the groceries'

Great Quote but the truth is, Parcells was a poor shopper ... in my opinion.
I remember him saying that as well.

He was a much better coach than talent evaluator.
He failed when he had control of both responsibilities.

Another very solid game.
His PFF grade for season is now over 60.
Fun seeing him grow.

Not a PFF subscriber but looking at their list he's the #60 tackle in their rankings and 8 spots behind Noteboom. Am I reading this wrong?

I don’t think they have them in order after the unlocked top 5.

I recommend searching player by name in google with PFF. Profile will give you season score and a little more.

If you look up players individually, you can see their season grade.

It can’t be in chronological order after top three as Havenstein is listed ninth.

Havenstein has had a great season thus far. Seems like usually he struggles a bit more in pass pro than he has this year. This might be his best season.

Watching Jackson play I'm more convinced than I ever was that he's a good RT. If they keep him at LT he's going to struggle for at least another year. I've always contended he's a RT and after watching him start at LT I'm sure he's a RT. He doesn't have the foot quickness he needs at LT.

Rob came in with a reputation for having heavy feet and that hasn't changed. He's been lucky he's only been flagged for only 10% of his holds. Jackson has quick enough feet to play on the right side. But his ego won't let him.

Jackson is in a contract year. My gut feeling is that they won't pay him to play LT so he will leave and be a comp pick. If they still like Noteboom at RT they can renegotiate his contract and save a bundle between him and Havenstein. Joe's problem right now is constantly being moved around. He needs one position and to be coached up on that position only. Until this year he's only been on the left side so it's harder than people realize to make the transition than to do it in season means he's going to make a lot of mistakes. On that whiff in the Raven's game, it was on Dotson who was late coming off his double with Shelton. It was clear Noteboom expected him sooner. IMO that is on Dotson as much or more so than Noteboom. That's the price you pay for shuffling the OL all TC.

Restricted Free Agent.

As an undrafted free agent, with three years experience, Alaric Jackson will be a Restricted Free Agent in 2024.

Guessing a qualifying offer with a first round tender ($6M in 2023), or a second round tender ($4.3M in 2023).
