With their #1 pick, I am really hoping for Best Available at an impact position ... LT, Edge, WR, CBIf we can't secure a LT in the first round I'd go with Jordan Morgan in the second. He could easily be the second round left tackle that ends up having a first round career.
YOUSONOFA... ~ @den-the-coachHere in New York, Parcells is mostly loved and universally held in very high regard.
I thought he was a terrific coach, pompous asshole and poor personnel man.
He famously said (when leaving the Giants where GM George Young had final say on personnel matters) ...
"If they want you to cook the meals, they should let you buy the groceries'
Great Quote but the truth is, Parcells was a poor shopper ... in my opinion.
That’s why it’s important for a GM and coach to work together. They’ve got to have the same vision. I don’t like when a coach pushes for a certain player to be picked, overriding the GMs judgement. Supposedly that’s why the Rams got Tutu. Here in New York, Parcells is mostly loved and universally held in very high regard.

The IR designation was for a blood clotting problem. I didn’t hold that against him. When Jackson went down in that Monday night game I soured on him. I just thought of all the fragile linemen we dealt with the past couple years. Not to mention he was IR'd last year. I figured he was in a long line of oft injured linemen.
I don't single out linemen when I watch a game. And I don't have the all 22 to re-watch it. But it does seem to me the line as a whole has gotten better and staying relatively healthy. Jackson is a part of that so I'll assume he's gotten better.
Hate to agree with this because that might cost our first rounder in 2025 but it is worth it if there's a guy they are certain about. If I need to move up I go get him.
Just imagine what it would have been like if there had been social media back then...I remember when DV traded up for Pace there wasn't a ton of hoopla
Thank you.I will trust you on this but that would mean Two Thirds of the starting LTs were First Round Draft Choices.
That's a Very High Percentage.
Other than starting-QBs, do you think there's another position with as high a percentage of 1st Rounders?

Can't go wrong there honestly. I've got my eye on Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze at receiver. They'll probably be around in that 10-20 range and they offer skills that we don't have on the roster. Chop Robinson at edge is intriguing. Jared verse as well. We'll have options. With their #1 pick, I am really hoping for Best Available at an impact position ... LT, Edge, WR, CB
Is it still believed he can play lt in the pros? I've seen a lot say he will switch to guard.I’m developing a man crush on Graham Barton out of Duke. Unfortunately, I’ve seen him sneaking into the first round lately.
I'll never forget watching a St. Louis Rams game on TV, and the replay showed Pace stonewalling two DE's / OLB's at the SAME TIME -- he'd punch one with his left arm, the other with his right, and continued for like 4-5 seconds.Hate to agree with this because that might cost our first rounder in 2025 but it is worth it if there's a guy they are certain about.
Hopefully it won't come to that though. Most lists I've seen the first round looks damn good for OT. Some might play RT but the question of whether they can flip to the blindside is scouting and gut instinct by the scouts too. So just take your shot on one of them and get it over with.
I remember when DV traded up for Pace there wasn't a ton of hoopla but boy if that wasn't a huge move for us. I think we're at a similar crossroads here.
Alaric Jackson's technique sucks. The more I watch him the more I do not see a franchise LT. His technique sucks and he gets beaten more than most realize. If Noteboom is 100% I'd rather see him at LT for the remainder of the season for one last look to make sure neither of these guys is their franchise LT. I can see them drafting a LT in the second round. Yeah yeah I hear people saying it's gotta be in the first round. But first round LTs bust a lot. There are good OL to be had in the second round just like Avila. Eleven of the 32 starting left tackles weren't first round picks. Just to give perspective. First round LTs bust as much as 2nd and third rounders but it hurts more. OL players have a high bust rate which is why IMO why risk a premium first round pick? They need a QB more next draft with that first round pick.
David Bakhtiari 4th round

Remember when the patriots forced that small wide receiver on him and he kept referring to the young guy as "she" and "her" when speaking to the media? That's Bill Parcells, and you described him vert accurately. Here in New York, Parcells is mostly loved and universally held in very high regard.

Okay this might be one of those scenarios where people don't like his measurables and just assume he's a guard. I heard his arm length is not ideal. But if a guy can play then he can just play.“He was the only Power Five tackle who earned 85-plus grades both as a pass-blocker and run-blocker while his 17 big-time blocks (PFF’s highest-graded blocks) were five more than any tackle in the country.” -pff
I absolutely hate changing a players positions based on measurables. Look at Doctson for an example. If a player plays a particular position at a high level, let him play it.
I believe Barton is going to be a stud LT and moving him to Guard is doing him (and their team) a disservice.
That player was Terry Glenn who had a productive 12-year-career. Was an very good player for a long time.Remember when the patriots forced that small wide receiver on him and he kept referring to the young guy as "she" and "her" when speaking to the media?
