IDK, the way the press is nowadays unless one of the individuals kidnapped is a pregnant woman I still believe the news will focus more on the Jackson case.
Alaric Jackson's Los Angeles Superior Court appearance is still scheduled for today, June 30. We will find out today whether he's charged with a misdemeanor or the charges are dropped. Maybe the NFL will cut him some slack and give him a break.
Odd that there is zero news about it. I wonder if there was some sort of delay.

LA Rams star Alaric Jackson’s domestic violence accuser makes surprising decision in restraining order case

The pregnant woman accusing Los Angeles Rams star Alaric Jackson of domestic violence has dropped her pursuit of a permanent restraining order against the football player.
Michael A. Goldstein, an attorney representing the woman, told judge Liza Bercovici in a Los Angeles County court room on Wednesday that his client “never served Mr. Jackson” and wished to “dissolve” the temporary restraining order that she got against Jackson on June 10.
When Bervocici asked if the woman had received “any pressure of any kind” to make her decision, Goldstein responded, “Of course not.”
He later added that she made her choice on her own free will.
“In that case, this matter is dismissed,” Bercovici said during the court proceedings. “Any restraining order currently in existence will be declared null and void as of this date.”
Bercovici said the issue will be “dismissed without prejudice,” meaning the woman can refile in the future if she chooses.

It’s unclear why the woman no longer wanted to pursue the matter, Goldstein declined to comment on the case following the hearing when asked by The California Post.
In her initial application for the restraining order, the woman — identified in the documents as Jackson’s pregnant ex-girlfriend — alleged that Jackson put his hands on her on June 8 during a heated dispute over a phone at their West Hills home.
The woman claimed that during the incident, she told Jackson “to be careful because I’m pregnant,” but she alleged he responded, “I don’t give a f—k.”
The 6-foot-7, 338-pound Jackson was arrested over the woman’s claims, though a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office told The California Post on June 18 that it will not be charging Jackson with felonies over the allegations.
However, Jackson is still facing the possibility of misdemeanor charges, as a rep for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office said in a statement to The Post that it currently has Jackson’s case and is reviewing it.
Jackson, who signed a $57 million contract extension with the Rams last year, has not publicly commented on the woman’s claims.

So as good of news as he could have possibly got. LA AG could still throw some misdemeanors at him which could complicate it and the NFL can of course still suspend him even without any charges so this has not been put to rest. But sounds like even if he does get suspended it won't be a large amount of time.
Honestly, this whole incident is starting to seem pretty lame. Sounds like the two of them got into a stupid little argument, and at some point Jackson swiped at her phone barely causing any harm. But, then the cops show up and make a mountain out of a molehill. Also seems like someone else pressured her into filing the restraining order, especially since it never got served, was never put into force, and then withdrawn. I'm guessing this whole thing is a nothing burger and is about to just go away.

If he gets suspended its gonna be more than his last suspension if its considered a 2nd offense by the NFL. Still waiting to see how this all plays out but at least she dropped the restraining order so there's that.

Depends on how the NFL feels about the situation, players have been suspended without being charged. I do believe this helps him though although I don't trust the NFL to not suspend him.
Her application is the first time I heard the fact that he "put his hands on her." All of the other descriptions stated that he put his hands on her phone, she bit him, and somehow got scratched up in the ensuing scuffle.
IMO, this distinction is a big deal. Touching someone's stuff is not nearly the same as touching their person. It's good this application is being dismissed. I believe that if there is no evidence that he put his hands on her directly, this whole thing will go away without a penalty.
This is good news. He’s not out of the woods, but he’s closer.
