For the great majority of us on this board, we've never seen a "real" snow game for our Rams. I've been following our Rams since 1979.

Yeah, there was a barely visible flurry at the end of the 1985 NFCCG vs Da Bears, but that hardly counts.

And no, there weren't any snow games during our playoff run in 1989, at either Philly or NY. (And I was at Foxborough for the last regular season game in '89... there was some snow outside and behind the sidelines, but nothing on the field.)

I seem to recall that one of our, uh, "more experienced and mature" members provided video evidence of the last "real" Rams snow game. It was from the 60s or early 70s, vs the Vikings in Minnesota, I think. If anyone can recall when that Rams-Vikings snow game was, feel free to remind us!

Forecast calling for 3-5 inches of snow in Philly on Sunday. Gonna be a memorable one!

Yeah '85 is the last I can recall and it ended badly. Memory gets hazy in those years too.

Going off just playoff games with snow the last good one I can recall is the tuck rule BS Patriots win over the Raiders. That was a hell of a game. Hoping this one is competitive like that, a good, physical matchup where the Rams step up big and eliminate those fuckers.

OK, I think I finally found it-- an image of the last time the Rams played with "visible" falling snow, vs the Vikings way back in 1968. There's a video of this game out there somewhere, but I'm having trouble finding it, even with a google search.

Was that the mud bowl?

Mud Bowl was in LA in 1977, at the Coliseum. Ridiculous field condition... couldn't even see the jerseys on some players, covered with mud
We would have kicked the Vikings butt in that game if not for the rain. I was so pissed off.

I thought we were going to the Super Bowl for sure that year.

That was by far our best defensive team.

And we had a great running game too.

QB - well I will let Den describe the QB.

Yeah I'll never forget waking up all excited to watch NFL Today and seeing Brent describe the downpour. I was really pissed but also deflated. I watched us blast them 35-3 on MNF WITH Tarkenton and then we had his backup starting. That game hurt, but I don't know if we were gonna get past the Cowboys that year anyway.

I am feeling pretty good about this game actually!

We really could use Corum though. A good RB2 is huge in snow games, especially one that can run hard, with big-game experience and cold weather experience playing in an outdoor stadium in college.

Yes. Gene Washington was a WR and Chuck Foreman was their RB that could run in the snow. Vikings had a good front four too that included Alan Page and Carl Eller. I remember that game had a lot of snow, couldn’t see the lines on the field.

When I was a kid I woulda loved to play in snow. It never snowed where I grew up. We used to try and get out early to play football while there was still frost on the grass. Pretend we were playing in Minnesota or Green Bay. Now, uh uh. Golf is the only sport I can play at my age. And I ain't golfing until it hits 50 degrees.

2013 snow game Eagles-Lions with Matt Stafford

Not the Rams, but in Philly with Stafford at QB for the Lions.
Stafford completed just 10 of 25 passes for 151 yards in the 34-20 loss, fumbling it five times but losing just one of those fumbles.

I wonder if Royce Feeeman gets activated. Big backs tend to be better on snow. Of course just as a back up, but also maybe in some short yardage situations where a bigger back might be better at staying on his feet and moving a pile.

I would prefer him to Schrader as the 3rd RB.

Their backs in ‘69 (70 playoff game) were Dave Osborn and Bill Brown. Chuck Foreman came in later years. Kapp did the most damage running in that game.

That game totally sucked btw. We probably would’ve won 9 out of 10 of them.
