i have a few memories of the viking rams playoff game in the snow...

joe kapp was the vikings qb...

i also read later that on the viks first play, he got under center and yelled "fuck you rams!"

the rams in those days had a ferocious front 4..

i was 11 years old and a pretty dissapointed ramfan...

let's go rams... show philly we ain't the sosar...

Kapp came into the Rams game for starter Van Der Kellen as a backup his first season in 1967. The Rams D, mostly Deacon, called backup QBs a cookie. So when Kapp came in Deac said something like "We got a cookie," and Kapp, in his Viking documentary interview, yells back "Fuck you! I ain't no cookie!"

The Rams D got a pick 6 in the game by Pardee on a Van Der Kellen pass and he got the heave ho for Kapp. Deac later chased down a rolling out Kapp in the end zone and sacked him for a safety. Rams won the game 39-3. :laugh4:

That wasn't the game he said fuck you to them. Or maybe he did, who knows... the players probably swore back and forth at each other all the time. But his first game in the NFL was in 1967 and in the Vikings doc they said he came into the game and told Deac "F-you I ain't no cookie."

So maybe he swore both times. It just struck me that I knew the time he swore at them across the line.

.

Haha, a wedding food tasting event.

Here's my tip for anyone planning a wedding. Nobody cares. Nobody is gonna remember any decorations, the flowers on the tables and on the walls, the food served. Everybody will forget about it as soon as they leave the building.

Yep - my GF’s daughter sort of set her up.She wasn’t going to have a wedding, just have us & the groom’s parents outside the LA Courthouse. The 2 moms in couraged them to have close friends & a reception. We were thinking bigger or smaller & who invite.
She changed it to SB was going to be small which in reality it was.Man she really knew how to put add on’s,but in the end she got what she wanted.Mom couldn’t say no.I’ll be the one who pass for it.The memories were great.

Her expenses were what cost, but the little things they did & how they did it was cool. There friends talked about it afterwards.

I’d say the old polaroid cameras by the guest books, brings real time memories & the guest there on page to right.Especially towards the end of the night when people more loosened up.
I would say having a grown up person say watching over & encouraging is a good choice to secure any F’ up’s. We all still have a little child in us & some more than others especially when drinking.
The super expensive wedding dress & photographer was a hidden cost, but letting a beautiful woman be a princess for a day plus the memories is what it ends up being about. -Plus being able to share your happiness is another part of it .

All good. I always thought Kapp was a tough dude and I enjoyed the Vikings "Missing Rings" documetary where he admitted to saying it in his first game in the NFL. But if he said fuck you to the Rams in another game too... things that make you go hmmm. I'll bring it up to my longtime Viking friend who's a big stat guy but his memory isn't as sharp, he does know a lot though. Yeah even though we have 2 SB trophies those postseason losses still sting whenever they're mentioned. I always go we could've beat 'em!! Cheers.

Btw I don't think the modern Rams ever played in a snow game, meaning when snow was coming down and it covered the field. In the 1969, 1974 and 1976 playoff games at Minnesota it was under 20 degrees but if you see highlights it was not falling during the game. The fields were void of snow, maybe a little end zone ice in 1969, and also shoveled several feet off the sidelines. In 1969 the players got muddy and the turf was solid in 1976 if anything. That 1985 Bears playoff game was clear until the game was 17-0 and out of reach and came down during that fumble rec TD.

The only time snow was visibly on the field that I saw (highlights) in a Rams game was in 1945 when the Rams were in Cleveland and beat the Redskins 15-14 for the NFL Championship. It's been on youtube for a decade.

Gametime temps are supposed to be in the mid 30s, which isn’t bad at all. With snow coming down it should be a great atmosphere. The Rams should be fine. If we can wrap up Saquon and make her beat us with his arm, we will win this game.

We would have kicked the Vikings butt in that game if not for the rain. I was so pissed off.

I thought we were going to the Super Bowl for sure that year.

That was by far our best defensive team.

And we had a great running game too.

QB - well I will let Den describe the QB.
Rams would have played in at least 2 SBs b/t 75-79 if they had ‘the’ QB.
