I wonder if he keeps progressing would Snead consider trading a guy like Van to get a better return than trading Lance or Ben. I wouldn’t think this way but they’ve got a lot of candidates for WR 3/4/5/6 if they carry that many.
They traded Woods so imo nothing would be out of question.

I know I’m just spitballing.

Jefferson has two years remaining on his contract, I don't believe he would be traded this season while we wait out OBj's recovery, but next year is something else again. VJ having a solid 2022 could easily make him top trade bait heading into 2023. jmo.

I see zero value in Evans or Burgess cluttering up the depth chart and taking valuable preseason snaps. I would have both of them in the first wave of cuts.

I wish McCutcheon had more wiggle and ability to separate. But he is a big target with good hands and focus. So his chances come down to whether they want to use a roster spot on a redzone type weapon. I think that is his niche for us this year if he makes it.
It's only the first time that I've seen him in action, but I love a guy who can go up and get it like he did, twice.
And then, take it to the house.
Van ......... did you see dat? ;) :sunglasses:

You know Stafford likes McCutcheon. Big target who can catch anything you put on him. 9 will be willing to put it on him even if he's covered.

I think they need to send him for a week or so to train with Fitzgerald on sneaky push-offs. Or maybe Bolden. With his skill set a good hands/arm game would be enormously beneficial.

Ref. final cuts...do you keep a marginal at best veteran former starter OL'er like Bobby Evans who will be gone in 7 months UFA'cy or cut a good promising younger OL prospect (Kolone/ Anchrum/ Arcuri/ Snyder/ Pircher/ Brewer) who is already playing near or even better than Evans?
Heh.....you answered your own question, Bonifay. Evans just looks like a JAG and hasn't shown the requisite improvement needed to make this man's football team. It's time for the youngins to show what they can do.
Good bye Bobby, we hardly knew ye.

Does anyone think Tremayne Anchrum can win the starting right guard position?

Also Dixon and Dicker both fared well yesterday. The punts had good hang time and gave plenty of time for the coverage team to get there. I think the coverage will be getting some work in this week.

The extra points pretty much right down the center.

I doubt it, seems RG is Bruss' to lose, and if that happens Shelton appears to hold the edge. The good news is that Bruss is getting valuable experience, the bad new is that he has to do it while working between Evans & Kolone, although Kolone is getting far better reviews than last year. Keep getting Bruss the majority of pre-season RG snaps and he'll develop into the job, whether as opening day starter or later in the season.
Anchrum and Shelton are todays likely candidates to replace Edwards at LG if he's lost to free agency following this year. jmo.

I think only Dicker punted last night ; and Dixon held for him on XPs.

Guessing the punting job is Riley Dixon's to lose but the Rams want to see if Dicker should have a PS spot.

I have a hard time thinking another team will want to use a roster spot for Perkins. He’s an athletic developmental QB - whose potential is to be a decent QB2 backup.

Harris seems most at risk for McCutchs rise. At some point, Harris needs to show something in the field instead of just theoretical potential.

Folks need to tap the brakes on McCutcheon's performance, while he was a highlight, he was also playing against some pretty pathetic D. And while we are waxing poetic on him, are we willing to keep him instead of signing OBJ?

I don’t think that’s the choice the Rams have to make coming out of camp.
Winning contested jump balls is impressive, regardless of the competition—unless it’s against midgets, of course.

Does McCutcheon play special teams? Because Harris can play special teams and do it well; that's part of the reason why we drafted him, not just his athletic traits.

I love what McCutcheon brings, believe me, but it's just one game.

The Rams basically have 3 ready to go starting WR's, the remainder are all in a developmental stage. Maybe we'll be able to count Tutu among 4. OBj likely won't be ready until December, and who knows what injuries might pop up until that time. Powell may have a job as I'm not really seeing much competition yet for returners, Harris is injured again and Skowronek while excellent for Special Teams hasn't really shown the type of consistency we want to see as a receiver. McCutcheon had what appears to be a breakthrough performance in one pre-season game, but he'll need to continue on this path if he hopes to displace Harris/Skow anytime soon.
If/When OBj is re-signed, he'll automatically jump to #3WR in the pack upon his return, won't matter who else is available. jmo.

I keep them both and try to trade Jacob Harris.
Do you really think he has demonstrated since being drafted that he has bonified trade value?
........Bruss was better imo than most are giving him credit for and Evans might be worse than what we're saying. I saw one where Bruss got bull rushed but I've seen a few OLine guys like Schwartz and Baldy break down those plays and talk about they're not nearly as bad as fans make them out to be in fact they're closer to a win than a loss on the play. If you get bull rushed and it takes the guy 4 seconds to push you back into the QB that's fine that's pretty normal for a QB to get the ball to a WR or to move in the pocket.....

.......Also 5 players will be cut this week so keep your eyes open for that.
The Evans/Bruss right side might be a very bad duo together. Could be that Bruss teamed with an Anchrum/ Brewer or Alaric Jackson might be a better learning outcome to better assist rookie Bruss to improve at a better rate. Playing next to the veteran Evans is an assignment most Ol'ers would lose sleep over. Next preseason game I would like to see Bruss RG & Anchrum RT as the starting right side duo and see what Bruss can do.

I would not look for any OL'ers/DL'ers to be included in the upcoming cuts this week
Evans is gone.
I thought Brewer played well at LG last night over all and was pleasantly surprised by Kolone.
I was hoping that the veteran Evans might bring Snead a 7th rd 2023 draft selection. I am really sure that will not happen. Chandler Brewer has demonstrated (since he arrived) to possess the versatility needed to make this team 8th,9th, or 10th OL'er. Bobby Evans certainly has proven the opposite.

Those boys in Arkansas have always been full of great common sense! Glad you help me on answering that question.

Yes - he is lining up on Kick coverage. I’m sure on all the other special teams squads as well. He has to earn a roster spot.
I get the Harris playing special teams, but he also hurt himself playing teams as well.
Cutch - is big & gets down field well,so that’s why I think he makes the team. Ben Sko is the better WR

If Kolone played 74% of the Center snaps, who played the other 26% ?
UDFA Rookie #64 Jack Snyder. He did not embarrass himself either.

A brief note: I thought the return of Logan Bruss later in the game to be teamed with AJ Arcuri @ RT was a better right-side combo.

The Chargers DL was constantly running multiple stunts on the young Rams inexperienced OL it was good learning for them!
