I also find it odd and hypocritical with all the Chicken Littling over Jordyn Tyson's injuries when none were related to each other or a degenerative condition. They were incidental or possibly related to his competitive approach or off-field maintenance. And yet people are dismissing the same concerns that recent Rams first-round selection Ty Simpson has around him despite his own injuries and build. As I've mentioned before, Shraeger reported that GMs had real concerns about his build or rather lack thereof not just regarding his height.

Tyson works out right before the draft and he predictably shoots up the board ahead of the Rams' selection but what a difference in concerns right after someone dons a Rams uniform. People accusing me of going overboard seem to be myopically not holding themselves to the same standard.

p.s. this is not at all directed at jrry32. I see where he's coming from with regards to his previous post quoting mine. I just disagree.

With all due respect, the Rams have done well overall mostly with lower picks in Day 3. I've cited the numerous misses that you're conveniently ignoring. This regime hasn't prioritized making top draft choices with their "Eff them picks" mentality, so I feel I'm on solid ground with my criticism.
I didn't ignore anything. I responded directly to your gripe. You're not going to hit on every 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round pick. Our draft record since 2017 is quite good.

I believe I said it before in the Ty Simpson thread, but I guess it bears repeating here. I've acknowledged that I could be wrong about Simpson. As I've said before, I don't hate him as a prospect per se, but this situation with regards to the draft is intolerable to me. I've been critical of this front office's draft decisions before even as I've supported both Snead and McVay overall. I even advocated for bringing Snead back in the aftermath of the house-cleaning after the firing of Jeff Fisher. Simpson even happens to share the first name as I do albeit with a different spelling, but I'm not going to hold my tongue when I see something egregiously amiss.

If Simpson becomes a stud, I'll eat crow and own up to it. It won't be the first time I've been wrong nor the first time I've pointed out my own bad calls.

So every pick needs to hit? Not asking much huh? Want to go over how many studs they've drafted/signed UDFA?
Yeah I'll stick with them over you
Lol get out of your feelings. I simply said that assuming a pick is good because they made it isn't accurate. I never said that makes them bad in general.

I didn't say that the Rams haven't done a good job overall since the Fisher era and it's obvious that you're not going to hit on every pick, but you're telling me that the Rams have done well in drafting with their top draft picks in recent years?

Outside of Verse, who fell in our laps like Bain, Jr. just did, the Rams' top draft choices in recent years have been Terrance Ferguson in 2024 , Steve Avila in 2023 , Logan Bruss in 2022 , TuTu Atwell in 2021, and Cam Akers & Van Jefferson both in the second round in 2020. Even if they are not first-rounders, these are premium picks.

Of course, you can justify that the Rams have traded away picks in essentially "drafting" or otherwise acquiring Jalen Ramsey and Trent McDuffie, which is all well and good, but I'm not criticizing them for that. I've even applauded Snead for his ability to make trades.

You can give credit to a front office for their job overall while recognizing its shortcomings. The track record of the Rams' top picks in recent years that haven't been used in trade have been quite less than impressive, to say the least.

Watching tape and interviews with Simpson, I understand why the Rams like him. The kid passed up around 7M in NIL money to be in this draft. That’s a ton of confidence. He has a high ceiling if everything comes together for him. Just shocking timing for the Rams being Super Bowl favorites this year and seemingly studs available at 13. Hoping we trade up using 2027 stock tomorrow to gain an extra early pick.

Let's hope the coaches know something we didn't see. Dedich was a pleasant surprise but we haven't had many of those concerning offensive lineman coming off the bench. Right tackle McLendon is also an amazing pick for a 5th rounder.
I didn't realize the draft was over?

We didn't have a #1 last year and were a top 2 team. Didn't have a first rd pick in 21', won the SB.

Relax.

Relax - we're already the best team in the NFL.
...and since when do the Rams ever even have a 1st round pick?
I'm not happy either, but we still have a bunch of other picks.
Look on the bright side - next year is supposed to be a better draft, and we won't be wasting a pick on a QB.

Did anyone notice that Buffalo just did a normal Memento draft?

Sorry Memento - I just couldn't help myself.
