Alright so my day 1 sentiment is the Rams made a mistake today. Could pay off later, but as of today our skill positions and OL depth are a glaring need and the opportunity to address it was missed. Pick 13. THIRTEEN

The focus should be on overtaking the NFC right now.

Day 2 and 3 had better have a different philosophy.

Don't worry - they will take Branch in the second round

Jermod McCoy still on the board.

Should have seen that one coming.
I love McCoy but once I heard that teams were flagging his knee as a degenerative issue with another operation likely needed in the near future, I knew he was dropping down the draft board. I was actually surprised to hear some draft gurus (only one or two, actually) predict that he would or could be taken in the first round. I had my doubts about that assessment.

He's considered the top talent at the cornerback position in this class and impressed in a recent pre-draft workout, but scuttlebutt of those red flags by medical staffs scared me away. This is a different issue compared to Jordyn Tyson's, which seems to have been proven the case given Tyson's selection 8th overall by the Saints.

Once the draft and udfa signing along with any additional added fa's are completed I will assess the off season.

As it stands with 2 starting CB's added I am very optimistic.

Lets add a couple players that can compete for quality playing time.
I would love some vertical/speed.

Trade up in Round 2 for the Receiver they REALLY want.

What an awful decision.
There's a reason they get paid millions of dollars to do football shit and we sit at home watching games on Sundays.

Just some perspective...

What have they done in the mid- to late-rounds in previous drafts that made them better?

Although I've warmed to the pick, I don't at all believe Mcvay and Snead are above making mistakes. I convinced myself that tutu was the next Desean Jackson because I couldn't fathom that they just missed so badly. They can do that. Even though they're great. They're still human.

Can't believe all the crying on here. Jeebus.

If this brain trust liked Simpson enough to take him at 13, then we should be excited to see why. No, they're not infallible, but McVay had to have co-signed and that tells me a lot. Perfect situation for the kid.

Jared Verse, Aaron Donald says Hi.
Greg Robinson agrees with me. Remember the reason he was drafted, he was a Clemson alum of Les’s.

Well this time:

Rams GM Les Snead has a strong, long-standing relationship with Jason Simpson, the father of QB Ty Simpson and head coach at UT-Martin. Snead consulted with Jason during Ty’s decision-making process for the 2026 NFL Draft, assuring him that Ty was a first-round talent.
CBS Sports +3
  • Relationship: Snead and Jason Simpson have ties that predate the draft, with sources noting they have a very close connection.
  • Draft Advice: When Ty Simpson was deciding whether to leave Alabama, his father consulted with Snead, who advised that Ty was a first-round pick.
  • The Pick: This connection led to speculation, and ultimately, the Rams drafted Ty Simpson at pick No. 13 in the 2026 NFL Draft.
  • Relationship Background: Reports indicate they go back to SEC playing days.
    Los Angeles Rams +4

Now it makes sense.

Wonder how far McCoy is going to fall. His medicals obviously scared the shit outta teams.

Grasping at straws.

I didn't realize the draft was over?

We didn't have a #1 last year and were a top 2 team. Didn't have a first rd pick in 21', won the SB.

Relax.
Kind of a strange response there man.
I was just pondering with another poster on if the next pick will be a offensive tackle or if they'll find one later in the draft like they've been doing very successfully lately.
