True, I wasn’t intending that so literally.
It is our lack of typical consistency and depth from starting pitching I was poking at.

I'm glad the Rams won. Of course. But for multiple reasons. The world series will be over before the Rams play again. So I'm hoping a Rams bookend win in Seattle will soften the blow of the World Series for all my Rams brothers out in L.A.

Nice retort! Second fiddle? We haven't finished behind the Red Sox in 6 years!! Since 1921, their whole existence has been second fiddle to the Yankees with some random exceptions. The Yankees and Yankee fans don't fear the Red Sox, they feed off them. Why do they keep trading away stars like Mookie? Because it's too expensive to play second fiddle to NY.

This ends for both teams over the next week or so. The Dodgers got by the Mets and Padres. Overcame Lindor and Tatis, Jr.. Great job to get to the World Series, despite being short handed on the mound. It doesn't happen a third time. To quote that great Cali band, "somebody's gonna hurt someone, there's nothing we can do" and that somebody is the Yankees.

The Red Sox are no different than the Marlins of the 90's and early 2000's. They load up to win it one year and the rest of the time they don't even make the postseason. They've missed the playoffs 10 of the last 15 years. The Yankees just 4 times. After we win this series, we'll both have won 2 Championships in the last 15 years, while they've missed the postseason much more than the Yankees. There ain't no second fiddle being played by anybody but the Red Sox in the AL. In MLB? History has labeled the Dodgers the second fiddle team of all time. They been to the World Series more than anybody except the Yankees and are 5th in bringing home the hardware. That's the definition of second fiddle. They had to move to the West Coast because they couldn't compete with the Yankees in NYC.

You can yadda, yadda, yadda those 27 rings but the Yankees are the only team to win 5 in a row and 4 in a row. Hell they came up one Mariano Rivera save short of winning 4 straight in 2001! So they had to settle for 3 consecutive (joining the A's). In fact, the Yankees have won at least two in row 6 times. That's 1 less than the Dodgers have brought home total. Come on now with that yadda, yadda, yadda! The Dodgers are 3 of their last 9 in the fall classic! And speaking of second fiddle the Giants are 3 of their last 3.

The Red Sox payroll has always been much higher than the Marlins.
The Marlins use to have a great farm system.
They’d bring up stud players and win, then let them walk in FA.

The Marlins were always sellers, the Sox had no problem buying.

I'm not living in the past. I'm not talking about Boston owning the Yanks or the 27 rings. I'm in the present. The Yankees facing a very good Dodger lineup with a very suspect pitching staff. A pitching staff that has taxed their bullpen to the tune of 62.1 IP to 36.2 IP for the starters. While the Yankees have 4 starters and 44 IP comparted to 38.2 IP by the bullpen. We'll see if that over-taxed bullpen continues to bail out the starting staff. They might. But then again, they might not. For context, the Dodger relievers had 3 games to cover the entire 9 innings and it worked out. They went 2-1. Screw up one of those wins and they might be eliminated or playing a game 7 with a tired bullpen.

Conine, Bonilla, Moises Alou, Devon White, Gary Sheffield, Kevin Brown, Al Leiter, Rob Nen; Ivan Rodriguez, Derek Lee, Mike Lowell, Juan Pierre, Todd Hollinsworth, Carl Pavano. Though that 2003 team had 3 home grown starters in Penny, Beckett and Willis.
