So we got Yankees fans who are also Rams fans? A PA guy who chose the Yankees over the Phillies or Pirates? A Massachusetts guy who chose the Yankees over the Redsox? Hmmm.

So why does it say it's not open for wagers? And what's this with @RhodyRams placing $25k bets? I must be reading this wrong.
Because I haven't set up the bets yet, though I have to admit that you ask very intelligent questions and I'm honored you would take the time to speak to me.

I was looking at the earlier bet that was who would win the WS from before the playoffs.

Question though. Why was that $25k and this only 15k? Is it because that was a one shot bet and this will have potentially 7 separate bets?

:laugh4:

My fandom came about very logically. I was born and raised in NJ. For baseball I had to choose from the Phillies, Mets and Yankees (we got all three on the TV.....WPIX11 (NYY), WOR9 (Mets) and 17 (Phillies). Back in those days pops took me to Yankee stadium every year (sometimes twice) and Connie Mack Stadium a couple of times a year. I think I made the wise choice.

For football, we lived near Trenton....about 70 miles from NYC and 35-40 from Philly. We he had a great antenna and we got NBC in NY (channel 4) and Philly (channel 3), CBS (NY 2, Philly 10) and ABC (NY 7, Philly 6). So even prior to NFL Ticket being somebody's yet to be dream, I had 4 games every week, sometimes 6...if I wanted to channel surf but in those days it required getting up and walking to the TV to change the channel!

Needless to say, my football choices were the Eagles, Jets, Steelers and Giants who all sucked badly with the exception of the Jets. I had two games to choose from in the late window....NFL many times the Rams, AFL many times the Raiders......so I fell in love with the Rams. There was something about those helmets, the sunny So Cal weather (when it was often cold and gray in NJ), the Coliseum and a Roman playing QB. It didn't hurt that many of the TV and movie stars were Rams fans......

All in all, I think I made wise choices in both sports. However, I will admit to being a Philadelphia Flyers fan and NY Knicks fan (long ago.....I don't watch much basketball these days).

So what's the problem with that?

Honestly we could see 7 games where neither team is within 5 runs of each other.

Yeah, its quite possible. Although the Yankees have an edge with the starting pitchers. Dodgers have the bullpen edge. If this series goes 6 or 7 games its likely we will see two bullpen games from the Dodgers. Normally thats not a good thing. But its worked so far. And it doesn't hurt when you average over 7 runs a game.

Big difference in starters ERA. The bullpen does have a couple guys that have trouble getting outs. Roberts used them when he knew he could afford to lose a game. ERA for the bullpen might be a tad skewed.

Dodgers only have 3 starters capable of going 5 innings or more. They all had bad games and they've all had good games in the postseason. So its a tossup which way they go in this series. Whatever the case I doubt Yamamoto and Buehler go more than 5 innings. Yamamoto may only go 4 innings. Even if he's pitching well. They'll let Flaherty go 6 or 7 if he's pitching well enough.
