Does not boad well for Caleb.
Well as I've mentioned in the Black Monday thread I have always been a fan of how Flores calls it. Also I like his "foot in ass" leadership style and I think it has just as much value in today's league as the softer McVay type approach everyone is emulating.
But Arthur Smith, yeah, I don't think he's a guy who walks into that room with ownership. He's a goofy bastard and that's fine for a coordinator level spot but not good to run the show.
Ironically enough the Bears will probably hire Smith. Because they will put the priority on coaching up the QB. When in actuality a great defense is a fantastic way to bring a QB up. It is in fact a QB's best friend, to not need to press to score every possession, and a great defense means you can be patient running the ball and balancing the attack.
What the Bears should do is tell Smith they want him as OC under Flores. That would be a combo that would win. Again though I'd be surprised to see them get that right.
