I get the feeling Flores 2nd term will be a lot different based on his time with KoC.
I love the dude because he had the guts to stand his ground, even if it meant he was stepping on his dick with the Dolphins. I detest weak yesmen types in leadership. And I think leadership is the most underrated factor in the rise and fall of head coaches. Way too much emphasis put on "can he develop my QB."

Look at Dungy with Manning. Having the top end leader in place is absolutely crucial. And the way that stuff shows in lower ranked jobs is when they will come in your office, look you in the eye, and let you know the truth whether it hurts them or not. Flores is that type so yeah I agree success is in his future.

There was talk during the game last night about in the pregame meetings with the TV broadcasters that he had confided in them about all he's learned from KoC and how he would do a lot of things different especially his relationship with the QB and the OC/QB coach being a high priority too. Think this bodes very well for him since we already know his defensive mind.

Maybe he improved due to it.

Yeah, I read the post by @OldSchool after posting that and that seems to be the case.

You can't treat every player the same way. You have to know what kind of motivation they respond to the best so you can get the best out of them.

Here's the thing from my perspective... It is easier to pull a dude like Flores aside and tell him he's gonna need to reign in certain behaviors, like being a dick to his sensitive undersized QB, than it is to take some brainy MFer and try to teach him to carry himself like he's got a pair. And the reason this stuff matters is because a football team is gonna respond better to the guy who can enter the room with some presence.

Way too many teams overlook this basic fact. This is how I knew Eberflus would fail in Chicago. They went after a coach who had a reasonable run as a DC, but check out some film on him talking to players. If I'd check out on the dude I presume players will too. Same with the Cards head coach. He's an excellent coordinator, but he is one sad and awkward fuck in the vids I've seen with him and players. These guys don't need a buddy. They need someone setting the tone.

I disagree if someone like Myles Garrett replaces him (yes I know, a wet dream lol). He's knowm to want to leave the Browns and that dude is a fucking stud for real.
We would have to throw in too much to get him. 1st and a 2nd at least.
