First round edge that’s a difference maker? At 19?

Hunter had 16.5 sacks last year,
He’s had one full season without double digit sacks.

You can’t count on that from a rookie.
You can't count on that from anybody tbh.

Well, I think if McVay watched that game, from what I can gather… if we can, we’re gonna go HARD after an Edge.

What little I watched, we’re gonna need that to get to the SB and win…

So don’t be surprised if we don’t back up the truck for Allen (Burns is younger and I think they’ll pay him), but Allen wants out.

If not, I’d expect us to really work out magic for a stud in the draft… not necessarily in the 1st round as we got Lord Byron in the 3rd… but yeah.

I think edge is gonna be our biggest focus.

I’d LOVE for us to prioritize a stud ILB to pair with Jones (not over edge, CB or C) but edge def will come first

Or use the 1st round pick on a cost controlled kid who could be every bit as good.
Which is what Philly would probably do if we trade for him. He's productive but I'd pass. I want a young core on defense that grows together into an elite unit.

The price to trade for him will be very high too with the dead cap associated with trading him.

I was reading somewhere (sorry no link) that this person thought maybe the Rams can acquire Khalil Mack for maybe a 2nd and 5th rounder, although his salary is not cheap. I'd like to see that happen,

Mack has aged faster than AD. I'd only sign him for depth, he's really not worth the investment at this point. IMO

See where the Steelers released Mitch Trubisky, OL Chukwuma Okorafor and punter Pressley Harvin.

Cost is about $7.5M of Dead-$ but it also created about $13M of cap space.

Takes Pittsburgh from about $16M OVER the 2024 projected Salary Cap to about $3-4M Over ... for the moment.

Expect to see a number of moves like this over the next month ... along with restructurings.

Yeah, what stood out to me was the ILB play of Gay and Bolton of KC, and when Greenlaw went down, Kelcie then exploded.

ILBs value should be higher as they are asked to do a lot nowadays, with so many impact TEs and throwing to RBs etc...

Gay is one of my top free agent targets. He's a bit of a knucklehead, but then again, Talib and Suh were once knuckleheads, and that didn't stop Snead from going after them.

Tell Jim53 that.
You mean the person that follows a few amateurs on X, steals their graphic charts, acts like they are his making, and tries to act like they are somehow the gold standard and 100% accurate and unbiased? That Jim53?:laugh3:

I like it because it puts another big dollar OG option in the market and hopefully drives down prices or at least prevents a bidding war

A quick check of cap sites makes the Bears release of Whitehair and Jackson obvious moves.

Appears Chicago just opened-up more than $22M of cap space, with about $9.6M of Dead-$.

With these moves, Chicago currently has between $66-$70M of cap space.

Think Jaylon Johnson can be crossed off any free agent list. Bears will have plenty of $ to sign or extend him.

They also are rumored to be huge for Hunter. Paring him with Sweat and all that cap space seems to be their plan. Trade Fields for what you can and go in with a talented D and a rookie QB contract, let somebody else pay Fields.
