And any team trading significant draft capital for him without an extension is a terrible franchise :)
Well, they technically would have him for 2 years, '23 and franchise tag in '24. Alas, with him being able to seek out a trade on his own, I suppose that allows some contract discussion to happen. Weird sitch. Colts of course dont have to accept the trade

Albert Breers with execs on Taylor trade:

"One AFC exec said he’d ballpark it at a third- and a fifth-round pick. Another AFC exec said a third- or fourth-rounder. An NFC exec said he’d consider a package carrying the value of a second- or third-rounder. A second NFC exec said he’d put the value at a fourth-rounder with play-time triggers to make it a third. A third NFC exec said a second- or third-rounder (“Less than [Christian] McCaffrey,” he added). A fourth NFC exec said “maybe” a Day 2 pick. A third AFC exec said a third-rounder. A fifth NFC exec said “possibly” a Day 2 pick, and a fourth AFC exec said a second-rounder. And an AFC GM also pegged it at a second-rounder."

The Taylor thing is interesting.
If the Rams want to move on to the next iteration of the team... trading for Taylor and trading out Stafford would make sense. Taylor is a special back who would give McVay a crutch for a rookie QB.

Just a possible scenario.

It certainly could go that way.
I don’t think Taylor is as polarizing as Bell, though.
Taylor is a whole different situation from Bell. I think personality-wise this is more like a Faulk type of situation.

Problem for Taylor is he's not quite as savvy in the pass game as McCaffrey, where few are. But he's also not bad in that regard. If you were to put him in a WCO under a playcaller like McVay you can bet he'd get manufactured touches in space and those pass game numbers would jump boy.

If the going rate for him ends up being 2nd to 4th round pick as some are saying then the Rams I think become very interested. But as it stands I just don't think we're gonna be able to offer up the best value. There's gonna be a few teams after him, because he's a quality player who can plug right in to all these WCO attacks.

Short term, sure.
That's why I said it would be if the Rams were looking for their next iteration. Poor word choice, I guess?
If they're looking for a real reset.. it would be an interesting path.

Rams should be interested if that is the case. Taylor is an upgrade over Akers bug time. Doubt we'll get involved in a bidding war.

Probably. Maybe. If his agent is looking for stupid money though the price on him will be very low because no team will want to deal with that BS and the adjusted trade cost will be for a one year rental to a contender.

But it's also possible after this trade BS is all said and done that his reps have a more realistic idea of what he'll be paid. And if that's the case then a creative team like the Rams might be able to package things in a way that is appealing to him. So I wouldn't rule us out and also it might not be quite as bad financially as some are expecting.

Taylor and the Rams right now = round peg, square hole.

Adding a player whose best days are ahead of them and one day will be elite at their position for a few years is one thing. A bellwether RB who inevitably will soon wear down and requires a big contract - seems an odd player to discuss with the 2023 Rams.

Wasn't talking Taylor. Look at what trading Stafford does to our cap. But yeah don't want to pay Taylor either

How’s ya’s boy Sloman doing? :thinking::laugh2:

Ps Blankenship has a higher fg% than Sloman!
I'm sure it gives him something to brag about in the unemployment line. Not sure what slogan sucking has do do with Blankenship sucking though

Is that like debating who looks better at closing time after having several.
