A solid A-Grade from me. I think you did an excellent job adding depth and developmental players to the roster.

I wouldn't knock yourself out on the CB position. After all, you (the Rams) didn't have a chance for any pics until the 3rd. And, 3rd round and up is no guarantee you're drafting an instant starter.

If I had to fight for a "maybe something I might of done different" thing, I might of taken a corner at your 4a) pick and bounced the TE pick down a slot or two, considering the Rams do currently have some depth at TE, and you could say a TE pick would be more developmental down the road; where the Rams do need corner depth right now.

So, there's my review. Again. I really like your pics. You can tell you're really up on the Rams draft needs!

Thanks for the assessment, it's much appreciated.
I very much considered a later round blocking specialist at TE, although I felt Jelani Woods could compete for TE1 in 2023 should Tyler Higbee become trade bait, ... and 2023 will be a 'contract' year for both Brycen Hopkins & Higs.

I’m all in on EDGE Alex Wright. He’d be a fantastic UDFA pick up for any team IMO.

I have to say doing this mock draft has got me familiar with a lot of the prospects so now I'm really looking forward to the draft again. I used to be so excited for the draft every year because the Rams where always in the top half of the first round. The draft use to feel almost equivalent to opening day for me. I guess winning the Super Bowl and being a perennial contender is a pretty good trade off.

Thanks for being at your post and putting together this Mock Draft TK-42 RAM!!! and thanks to everyone who kept it going all the way to the end.

Cleveland Browns

Identified the needs as LB, DE, OT, S, WR, OG, DT, OLB . Fair to say I went for athletic prowess with a focus on the defensive side of the ball … which may be hit or miss – we shall see.

44. Daxton Hill , FS , Michigan

Hill has played all over the secondary for the Wolverines, and this versatility is always in demand in the NFL especially when paired with supreme athletic skills. Ran a 4.38 at the combine which may catapult him into the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft where pro teams are going to be wowed by his sky-high potential. A possible star at the next level if not rushed into action too soon.

78. Damone Clarke, ILB, LSU

Damone Clark is a promising pro prospect, who has some immense upside. He's got the ideal size for a middle linebacker, is strong, has elite speed, and is an overall elite athletic talent who put up massive numbers in 2021 while playing against top-level opposition in the SEC. Inconsistency is an issue - and until 2021 he was an underwhelming player who underachieved given his outstanding athletic talent. Expecting him to be called in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

81. Logan Hall, DE, Houston

Hall is an amazing athlete possessing an elite combination of strength, height, long arms, and ridiculous speed as well as change of direction skills. He also is a natural run defender who seems to spend half his game in the backfield - he's just too powerful for most interior linemen to handle. His upside is immense and Hall has the skills to be elite at the NFL level. Has only had a single year as a full-time starter. In addition, NFL teams may struggle to find a perfect spot for him to play, and isn't a natural fit in most defensive systems. Developmental prospect but with quite possibly the highest upside of anybody in the class and well worth a second-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft.

99. Josh Jobe, CB, Alabama

Didn’t identify a CB as high on the list of Browns needs however Josh Jobe is an athletic corner with nice size, length, and overall strength. He excels as a run defender and is a solid tackler but has a number of issues. It's difficult to see Jobe as an early starter in his pro career - he's just a little too raw and could be a liability in coverage. As a pure corner he's more likely to be viewed as a late-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. So maybe I picked him a little early however many of the CB’s I was looking at had already been picked.

118. Kyren Williams, RB/WR, Notre Dame

Kyren is one of those players I just like. I saw a couple of ND games last season and Williams is a very talented and versatile back who has established himself as one of the top runners in this year's class. He is capable of taking a pounding up the middle as well as being a shifty outside runner and is a threat to go the distance whenever he is in space. The jury is still out as to what extent he can be an every-down back in the NFL and as a result, maybe third – fourth round - expect him to have a nice NFL career – would like to see him at the Rams under good coaching to see what he could do in the right system.

202. Alec Lindstrom, OL, Boston College
I have a confession to make – I meant to pick Alec up for Washington not Cleveland :laugh4:. Lindstrom has an excellent technique and is an elite pass protector and a good run blocker. He however is a little undersized and can be physically dominated by bigger defenders. Has a moderate ceiling due to his average strength and high football IQ. Lindstrom is probably the fourth-fifth best centre in a weak draft class - expect to hear his name called in the fourth or fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

223. Leon O’Neal Jr, S, Texas A&M

Does a very good job of reading the eyes of the quarterback and reacting with good field awareness and ball skills. Good instincts and anticipation reads and reacts with discipline. Dangerous with the ball in his hands. Could be picked up anywhere between 150 –> to being picked up as a FA.

246. Chris Paul, OG, Tulsa

Best asset is his strength and disposition as a run blocker. Gives a strong initial punch. Above-average football smarts and general intelligence. Plays with a nasty streak. Solid character and work ethic. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets picked up between 150-200.

Washington Commodes

COMMODES.png

Identified RG, DS, LT, WR, CB, OC, TE, LB as needs.

Wanted to focus on the offensive side of the ball to give Carson Wentz every chance to succeed --- or Taylor Heineke who will replace him after Wentz throws six interceptions in the first half …

11. Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

Garret Wilson should be a star - he has elite 4.38 speed, good hands, runs perfect routes, and is a hard worker who gives everything. Following the combine I feel Wilson may be regarded as the number one receiver in the draft.

47. Nicholas Petit-Frere, OL, Ohio State

Should be regarded as one of the top offensive tackles in the 2022 NFL Draft. He is equally adept in the running and pass blocking game and has few flaws which can't be overcome with good coaching. Versatile, with potential to start early in his NFL career at either left or right tackle. Expect him to be drafted late first early second round.

113. Derion Kendrick, CB, Georgia

He'd probably fit best in the NFL as an outside corner in a zone scheme but can play man. He ran a poor 4.75 at the pro day which wouldn’t have helped his chances of a high selection point. Needed a corner – I didn’t research too hard – plays for Georgia so should be coachable and seems determined and doesn’t like to beaten. Has had some character issues in the past - good value as a late 3rd round - early 4th-round prospect. Not overjoyed by this pick – we will see.

189. Terrel Bernard, LB, Baylor

Good reader of the play. Can attack the edge with speed and has the flexibility to dip low and under the tackle's reach. Reacts quickly to targets in zone coverage. Good coaching at the NFL level is the key for Terrel. Closing speed and agility to reach passers from the blind side or up the middle before they can escape. Could be picked up anywhere between 80-200.

230. Chase Allen, TE, Iowa State

thechaseallen.png

Saw him play during the year and he plays with red hair, energy and passion. I really picked him because I wanted to show everyone his glamour shot!! :laugh4: Would look great in a Washington Uniform. Deceptively fast at 6 foot 7 – but will probably be picked up as an UDFA .. and will give 110% !

240. Cade Mays, OG, Tennessee

Probably my best pick for Washington. Rapt he was still present at pick 240. Fills a major need for the Commodes. Above-average football smarts and general intelligence. Plays with a nasty streak. Solid character and work ethic. Tall, long, athletic pass protector. Gets out of three-point stance with good knee bend and a wide base. If a scout were to draw up a starting NFL left tackle, the picture may look like a lot like Adams. Is a prototype for the position. Should be picked between 150-220.

Agree with all you pointed out there...for sure.

A little tid bit here for you. I too liked Jelani Woods. In fact, same 4th round, I was all ready to draft him at Pick #132. But, your ass came along at Pick #127 and stole him from me! (lol). I was very pissed off! (lol)

This messed me up. So, I ended up going Safety at Pick #132, and waited until Pick #142 to grab a TE, Daniel Bellinger out of SDSU.

This draft was fun. Definitely like playing chess!

It sucks when you feel you're close to grabbing a player you've spent so much time researching, ... I feel your pain as I had a few similar situations come up when aiming for DB's like Alontae Taylor, Verone McKinley and the fellow you got in front of me, Cam Taylor-Britt. I guess it all evens out, but it doesn't feel like it in the moment.
It does make the real draft more fun when you have a little more familiarity with the players, and these mocks and the research put in are helpful in that, if nothing else. I never expect that my own mocks will match what our team actually does, it's more about how I see it than anything else, and when we avoided Offensive Linemen last year the way we did pretty much proved that my radar is malfunctioning.

Atlanta Falcons 2022 ROD Mock Draft Selections
Offensive needs -
WR, RB, QB, IOL, RT Defensive needs - Edge, S, DT

Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame (Rd 1 pick #8)
I felt Edge and WR were the two biggest needs for the Falcons. I really wanted to take Jermaine Johnson III here but I felt I'd be reaching. I also felt the WR class was so deep that I could hold off until the 2nd or 3rd round. I told myself going into this draft, don't reach, let the picks fall to me, best player available. So, with most analysts seeing Kyle Hamilton as one of the best and most complete prospects in the class I had to go with him for the Falcons first pick.

Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss (Rd 2 pick #43)
With the Falcons trading Matt Ryan away, QB was another big need for the Falcons. I didn't feel I should pull the trigger at #8 for any of this years QBs but if any one of my top four, Pickett, Willis, Corral, or Ridder, were still on the board in the 2nd round at #43 I'd feel great about taking one.

Drake Jackson, DE, USC (Rd 2 pick #58)
Jackson being available here made me feel better about passing up on Jermaine Johnson III in the 1st round.

Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State (Rd 3 pick #74)
I was targeting Alec Pierce here but with the best RB in the draft (my opinion) still on the board in the 3rd round, the value was just too good to pass up.

Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati (Rd 3 pick #82)
I was hoping either Pierce or Logan Hall would make it past the seven picks since my last pick.. Cleveland took Hall at pick 81 (great value) but Alec made it through! (I also woke up at 4 am to make this pick)

Max Mitchell, OT, Louisiana (Rd 4 pick #114)
Was really hoping for Edge rusher Nick Bonitto to keep falling or that Luke Goedke for the Oline would be available but MadGoat nabbed 'em both near the end of the 3rd. So I went with Mitchell on the Oline. Filled a need and pretty good value.

Noah Ellis DT - Idaho (Rd 5 pick #151)
At 6-foot-4 and 359 pounds, his frame alone makes it hard to not key in on him when watching film. But what sets him apart, and why scouts have slowly begun to move him up draft boards, is his knack for plugging gaps in the run with an improving prowess to push the pocket on late downs. Out in Las Vegas at the East-West Shrine Bowl, Elliss was a constant in the opposing offense's backfield during team drills, but where he shined most was in one-on-ones—the All-Big-Sky was unblockable throughout the week. While stymying a 350-pound athlete is a difficult task in and of itself, one that can move both vertically and laterally in the way that Elliss does has forced NFL teams to flip on his film during his days as a Vandal to truly identify how impactful a defender he could be on Sundays.

Justin Shaffer G - Georgia (Rd 6 pick #190)
More Oline help this time on the inside

Calvin Austin III WR - Memphis (Rd 6 pick #213)
Couldn't pass up 2nd round talent in the 6th round.
With so many similarities to Tavon Austin with his size and speed and everyone saying he's a gadget guy,
I can see why he fell so far in the ROD draft.

That's a pretty damn awesome pick for the 6th round. Congrats on that one!

I was putting away the mock notes ... and found some old notes from the 2017 ROD Mock Draft I had in a draw in my office.

I was selecting for the whiners and every single pick five years on is now classified a bust. So I consider my job successful.

I can recall my three favourite WR were Cooper Kupp (who I had double ticked), K.D. Cannon and Garry Brown.
I remember thinking Kupp would drop to the fourth round so I chose Julie'n Davenport, OT, Bucknell :eyeroll:... then in came @OldSchool to steal Kupp late in the third !!! sigh.

@12intheBox selecting Patrick Mahomes at pick 55 may be considered a solid pick ! :wow2:

We can all be thankful I didn't run the draft for Cincy that year :D At least for Kupp sake haha the two picks I made prior? Yeah neither are in the NFL atm.

I have 4 out of 6 still in the league, although my 1'st round pick (DT Malik McDowell) injured himself directly following the draft in a non-football related incident and then later went to prison on another matter, ... he didn't play in a single NFL game until last (2021) season where he started 14 games.

Also nabbed Christian McCaffery in the first for the Chiefs that year. Not a bad haul.

I just ran through the 2020 ROD Mock draft ( https://ramsondemand.com/threads/2020-official-rod-mock-draft.60916/page-58 ) - some interesting picks two years ago ( @Karate61 picking up Cam Akers in the 3rd round  ) -- and we didn't do the free agents - it may have been 2018 that we did it.

I'm looking forward to collating the results following the draft and see who wins the prestigious DaveFan'51 award.

davefan51_trophy-png.35993
So, in doing that mock draft, I learned a lot about Cam. I thought at the time, man, he would be a great fit for the Rams...especially with his success catching the ball out of the backfield (as Gurly did quite so often in McVay's offense).

Shortly after, @SeminoleRam started a thread:

Name One Player You Hope The Rams Pick With Their 52nd or 57th Pick

Guess who I suggested the Rams pick:

One of the greatest moments in my life!

Green Bay Packers

Final Mock Draft Review

2022

As Drafted By

Karate61

I'm super happy with this draft. Green Bay just resigned Rodgers for his last shot at another Super Bowl in the twilight years of his career. This makes this an urgent Draft, to have a team that Rodgers can have immediate success with.

Mr. Superstar QB Rodgers can't have no one to throw to. With the loss of Devante Adams to the Raiders, the early focus on offense became wide receiver as the Pack currently has one of the worst receiving corps in the league. Most of the offensive unit is solid with the greatest needs being right tackle, depth at the injury riddled tight end position, and a kicker to replace the disastrous Mason Crosby.

On the defensive side, Green Bay is fairly stacked and a top ten defense. The secondary is top flight. The main areas of need to fortify this unit are edge rusher, defensive tackle and safety.

Big Move!
The big move of this mock draft was to trade down to get a stud receiver for Rodgers. Green Bay traded its two 1st round picks at #22 & #28 for the Giants 13th pick. The Giants also gave up their 67th (3rd round) and 147th (5th round), which added great opportunity to grab more quality players for the Pack.

After this trade, Green Bay went into this draft with 12 picks in total and a lot of opportunity to strategically pick or pass on players.

London should be a stud
in the NFL.
