Green Bay Packers

Final Mock Draft Review

2022

As Drafted By

Karate61

I'm super happy with this draft. Green Bay just resigned Rodgers for his last shot at another Super Bowl in the twilight years of his career. This makes this an urgent Draft, to have a team that Rodgers can have immediate success with.

Mr. Superstar QB Rodgers can't have no one to throw to. With the loss of Devante Adams to the Raiders, the early focus on offense became wide receiver as the Pack currently has one of the worst receiving corps in the league. Most of the offensive unit is solid with the greatest needs being right tackle, depth at the injury riddled tight end position, and a kicker to replace the disastrous Mason Crosby.

On the defensive side, Green Bay is fairly stacked and a top ten defense. The secondary is top flight. The main areas of need to fortify this unit are edge rusher, defensive tackle and safety.

Big Move!
The big move of this mock draft was to trade down to get a stud receiver for Rodgers. Green Bay traded its two 1st round picks at #22 & #28 for the Giants 13th pick. The Giants also gave up their 67th (3rd round) and 147th (5th round), which added great opportunity to grab more quality players for the Pack.

After this trade, Green Bay went into this draft with 12 picks in total and a lot of opportunity to strategically pick or pass on players.

London should be a stud
in the NFL.

That's an impressive haul ...

It's going to be fun to see who actually goes where during the real thing.

Totally. That's the funnest part of this mock draft; comparing everybody's picks to the actual draft. Fun, Fun, Fun!

Final Mock Draft Review

2022

I'm happy with this draft too. Honestly, with all the hype of the Raiders acquiring Davante Adams, and only 5 mid to late round picks, this draft was a bore.

I tried to focus on best available player, in combination of the Raiders needs. They needed Tackle, Center, Interior Defense, Cornerback and lastly a Receiver. I didn't grab a receiver because of the best available strategy. And, no big moves for the Raiders in this draft. They really didn't have any ammunition to do so.

Are we going to be grading on points this year? I believe we had set up some system in the past where if your team chose the player in the spot it was worth a bunch, chose your player it was worth some, and you even received points if your player was chosen earlier than expected. Penning would merit me some points for the latter.

I picked Christian Watson for Green Bay! I picked him at 59, but they traded up to #34 to get him. They should have waited...lol!

With The 86th Pick

In The Third Round

Of The 2022

ROD NFL Mock Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders Select:

Logan Bruss

Guard

Wisconsin

Overview

Height: 6'5"

Weight: 309 lbs

Logan Bruss is what you would expect from a three-year starter at Wisconsin. He has a great understanding of angles and leverage and uses both of them to his advantage. Unlike some lineman with poor length, you can see Bruss understand his limitations and find ways around them.

The area where you can see Bruss show his athleticism the most is when he gets off of the football and can work downhill. He could work out as a guard in a zone-blocking scheme with his ability to pull into space and find defenders at the second level. Overall, his skill set brings a strong floor of a player you know can be a swing lineman or a starter in a pinch.

Consider trading up in the 4'th for Tariq Woolen and a higher 5'th ...
It would likely cost our 2023 3'rd.

118. Kyren Williams, RB/WR, Notre Dame

Kyren is one of those players I just like. I saw a couple of ND games last season and Williams is a very talented and versatile back who has established himself as one of the top runners in this year's class. He is capable of taking a pounding up the middle as well as being a shifty outside runner and is a threat to go the distance whenever he is in space. The jury is still out as to what extent he can be an every-down back in the NFL and as a result, maybe third – fourth round - expect him to have a nice NFL career – would like to see him at the Rams under good coaching to see what he could do in the right system.

I have collated the points for the DaveFan'51 Award.

Changed the points system slightly so that a player gets rewarded for a selection and penalised a bit more for a miss.
(... not to say that you're non-selected player won't make it -- hit me up if they become a brilliant free agent signing. :sunglasses::thumbsup1:)

Points System

When your player gets selected it is an automatic 2 points.

An additional 2 points is awarded if the team you manage selects that same player.

If you selected a player that the Los Angeles Rams selected you receive a bonus 1 point.

Graded points system..

If you selected a player in the ROD MOCK DRAFT 51 plus places after he was selected in the actual NFL Draft you receive 12 points.

Between 41 to 50 places after 11 points

Between 31 to 40 places after 10 points

Between 21 to 30 places after 9 points

Between 11 to 20 places after 8 points

Between 1 to 10 places after 7 points

Same pick is 6 points (plus the bonus, above, if it is also your team)

Between 1 to 10 before 5 points

Between 11 to 20 before 4 points

Between 21 to 30 before 3 points

Between 31 to 40 before 2 points

41 plus places after your pick 1 point

_____________________________________________________________________________________

The winner is the player who has the highest average.

For example if you obtain 100 points from your ten picks your average is 10 , you beat a player who has 140 points from 20 picks with an average of 7.

I'll have another look over the spreadsheet -- hopefully I haven't made too many errors and announce the winner shortly.
