I think I’m in the minority but I prefer Mathieu over Gilmore. If this was 3-4 years ago Gilmore would be the obvious choice but he has been injured the last 2 years. Mathieu is 2 years younger at 29 vs. Gilmore at 31. Both players should be asking for similar money. Both are elite talents but Mathieu can line up all over the field he’s not just a safety. Mathieu would instantly be the top Rams slot DB. Almost every team in the NFL runs 3 WR sets more than anything else. That makes slot CB a lot more important than 10-20+ years ago. Ramsey could focus on locking down the outside #1s. Long/Rochelle could then focus on the 2nd outside CB position (I think both are better outside than inside). Mathieu would give the Rams more versatility than Gilmore. If you are choosing between the 2 I don’t think it would be smart to choose the more injury prone and older player.

Perfect. :laugh4:

That's why it was time for Pete to go. He's thinking with a great run game he can fudge the QB spot. I don't think this direction is gonna work out for him. If that GM wants to save his ass he's gonna have to do something crazy like trade for Baker Mayfield and pray he hits.

Re: their draft spot at 9 my hope is Corral doesn't make it to them. I think he's the QB in this draft who is going to do well in the NFL and the Seahawks could really use him.

I’d love the hawks wasting #9 on a QB. None of these guys are anywhere close to that kind of value pick. Passing on a top tier WR or other talent for a developmental QB that likely won’t ever see significant NFL time - go for it.

It will be interesting to watch and see how Watkins plays with Rodgers at QB.

Have long thought Watkins was good but should have been much better. Durability is also an issue. I don't think he has played sixteen games since his rookie season; and averages about 4-5 missed games per-year.

Watkins is one of those guys that can just show up and play good football. If he only had the heart to be the best, he could have been something.

He‘s admitted publicly football pays the bills but his interests are elsewhere.

I have to agree. I'm not enamoured with any of the QB's in this draft. They all look like backups to me.
