And yet it isn't only about arm strength and speed of the WR. Kupp led the league in 20+ yard plays and we all know his speed. It's about timing and being able to hit the WR in the best spot to make the bigger play and the offense design. Those stats I posted don't claim, at least I'm not because of them, that Tua has a bigger arm than Mahomes although Tua had few problems in college with big pass plays and yes I know full well the college game is different than the NFL. All these stats show is that his average depth of target for the time period chosen was deeper than Mahomes. He's capable of throwing the ball down field to WR's much more so than a lot of fans give him credit for. Will he repeat the feat this year? Not sure, nobody knows tbh in part because nobody knows the offense that their new coach will install. But he's got probably the fastest WR tandem in the league so it's hard to imagine the Dolphins won't take advantage of that speed in many ways if the coach is as smart as he's made out to be.
Again we can all see stats and take from them what we want to. I looked at them and thought that even though they had a bad OL and little in the way of weapons outside of Waddle Tua put up some impressive numbers in that category. Others thought they were fake or manipulated to make him look better.
