Not getting Miller the Rams probably new they would not be able to replace him. They have some edge in the wings that maybe get them what they would get from the other edge FA left. So if they can't get the D they compensate by boosting the O. Another possible way to compensate for loosing miller is to have a much better D back field. Maybe if they can work a deal with Gilmore. I think he is to expensive, but who knows.

What is Clowney's rep in the locker room?

No chatter out there connecting him to the Rams, right?

If the Rams don’t want to commit a lot of money to someone like Clowney, I wouldn’t mind seeing someone like Derek Barnett signed. He is still young at 25, is a former first round pick, and I think he has the ability to be more than he has shown.

If he could develop a better move I think he could really increase his sack numbers. He has been pretty decent at creating pressures, and he is fairly good versus the run. If the Rams could get him to cut down on his penalties, and he could improve on pass rush moves, he could really blossom in to a decent pass rusher. I could see him becoming a 7-10 sack player with the Rams.

Agree.

I mentioned Barnett in a post, earlier in Free Agency, as an alternative should the Rams lose Miller. Re-signing Okoronkwo would have been my first choice but he signed with Houston. Threw-out Barnett, Dorrance Armstrong (re-signed with Dallas) and Arden Key.

Don't see it as trying to sign the "Next-best-Edge"; and Snead made it clear that after losing-out on Miller, the Rams decided to “pivot to a different position” and then signed Robinson.

He's a dog who commits a lot of dumb penalties, offsides, personal fouls etc.. and not overly productive. Plus, he is more of a DE than an OLB. I mean if dirt cheap, then yeah why not, but he has not shown much thus far.

I just saw that OBj is open to returning to Cleveland now. I really hope we don't lose him too.

if this is true, then he should go there. I mean, this is an obvious tactic for leverage with the rams after he already said he wanted to come back in a team friendly contract.

Why would he want to go to cleveland? rams have the better roster. He would have amari and probably landry to compete with. Cold outdoors. NOT LA, or SoFi. Less chance of winning a SB in AFC, oh, and didn't their head coach fucking dump him last year?

If he is really contemplating cleveland after what the rams have done and will do for him, I don't want him on the team.

Wtf is going on there? Only thing I could guess is he believes the Rams aren't offering him enough so he's putting that out there to get a better offer. Hopefully it doesn't happen as I can see this board lose their shit because we traded away Woods and lost OBJ. Our WR depth would take a huge talent hit.

We should know before the draft and if obj goes elsewhere then the rams can draft or trade for someone. We still have the best starting duo in the league and it won't even be close. If he leaves, it won't be because the rams didn't make a very good offer and both him and von will be watching the 2 conference championship games as the rams go back to back.

Well, compared to the start of the 21' season our WR corp is about the same or better, especially considering that the rookies will be in the system for a 2nd yr... One could emerge.

21' - Kupp, Woods, Jefferson, D.Jax

22' - Kupp, Robinson, Jefferson, Skowronek/Atwell/Harris

I'm calling it right now.

kupp and arob combine for at least 3000 yards and 30 td's this season. by week 4 any team playing the rams this year will be saying, oh, that won't end well

I don't believe that. He wasn't just pissed at Mayfield he was also pissed at the coaching staff for not doing anything. He got toxic there. I won think he wants Cleveland and vice versa.

Let him play games for more money. He is still a thirty year old receiver with an injury history. Back, shoulder and now two knees.. Plus he needs the right staff around him to motivate him to lift and get stronger. He'll be dumb like Miller and leave for the money when all of the extra money he needed is right in LA.

I strongly believe it's posturing for a better offer from the Rams. If not, we will definitely need to add to the WR room and probably will anyways via the draft within our 1st 2 picks based on our recent draft history.

They'll draft a receiver with every pick. They only drafted three last year. That's not enough.
