Would love to have gotten Brown, but no way we afford it without losing a player or 2. Dead money stopping us from swinging for more.

Loving this trade.

Brown will be a low cap number for years, assuming we extend him before the franchise tag is applied.

His extension will include plenty of flexibility to restructure in the early years minimizing the cap hit. Being he's a young player he fits the mold beautifully.

I am stunned Brett Veach stole that second round pick. The whole trade is essentially Orlando Brown for a mid second rounder. Considering what Tunsil fetched and us being rivals with the Ravens, I couldn't believe it. Ravens fans are pretty stunned too. Not so much the price where he's going. It's wild.

Ravens brain trust clearly think they are the smartest guys in the room. But they have been drafting very well lately. I'll give them that.

Now the Chiefs can go BPA in the second or trade up with the only remaining fourth. LB, EDGE, and WR look to be the biggest needs remaining.

Blockbuster trade of the off season, bringing Matt Stafford to LA
Signed FA Deep threat Desean Jackson
Retained potential Pro-Bowler in Darious Williams
Retained potential Pro-Bowler in Leonard Floyd
Yeah, not a thing.....
Count me as one that isn't too confident in DJ. Got Stafford yes, but have lost JJ3, Hill, Everett,, Blythe AND Brandon Staley.

Thank God we still have 4 of the 5 pieces of the #1 ranked PFF OL.

Maybe you ate right. I thought Brown wanted to play left tackle, so he can get paid. He doesn't sound like a team player. Maybe the Ravens were sick of him belly aching. Who knows who he was griping to. I'm sure the Ravens did not turn down better offers. Its likely the best offer they got. There has to be reasons for that. Word gets around in the league about who is a standup guy and who isn't. Consider Marcus Peterson. First round talent but they took a second round pick for him. The Rams took even less to get rid of him.

I'll bet Brown threatens to hold out if not given his extension. If not maybe he decides to test free agency. If so, then Veach decides essentially a second round pick is worth a year or two of putting up with Brown if it gets them a Super Bowl. This is a good year to draft his replacement.

I don't think they miss Everett as much as JJ and Hill. I hope Snead is able to take advantage of this odd draft year and really finds some great UDFAs to backup what's starting to look like a thin on quality DB group. An injury or two and they could be in trouble.

The Queefs. I don't mind an opposing fan visiting the board and respectfully expressing an opinion or excitement over a trade. It is Rams - NFL talk.

Chiefs really solid adding Brown, Long and Thuney to that offensive line.

Mahomes behind the potential of that line is scary.

Poor Mahomey, he is yesterday's news. We'll get an Allpro with Meinart and then this thing will rock and roll in LA! There's a new sherrif in town ~ Matthew S.

Kind of shocked ... and a little disappointed ... that you left-out the best of of the group ... Austin Blythe.

On a serious note, the Chiefs really have re-worked their O-Line.

The OL plays as one, so you may get a few top rated players but that does not necessarily play well together.

Brown is a Me Not We player... "I will only play LT now".

Translation... LT's make more $ and that's all I give a fuck about.

Big Whit... "Hey, if you need me to move positions I'll be happy to play guard".

Translation... Whatever I can do to help the team get better.

Fuck Brown. He's a Brown Eye. The Queefs deserve him.

Just watch what happens to his level of play after he signs his LT contract.

That was my take. I believe he wants elite LT money now. Before he has even established himself as an elite RT. By all accounts he was heading towards elite RT status but I don’t think he has consistently achieved that yet.

Perhaps Brown would have been happy to play RT if they would still pay him LT money? In all practicality the Ravens knew they were never going to do that so the writing was on the wall being his contract expires after this season.

Clearly OBJ saw the franchise tag coming and was letting them know early if they were going to go franchise him as a RT then he wanted to part ways. I don't blame him at all. He earned his LT status after playing so well at LT. He proved himself with giveing up zero sacks and only 16 pressures in 700 snaps. So BAL began to look to see what he'd bring via a trade. His market was surprisingly low but the Ravens very much wanted to move him before the draft.

Teams eyeing this deep pool of T's with cheap rookie contracts clearly hammered Brown's value. Ravens got tired of waiting and the Chiefs were hot from the start once they could get him for less than a first round pick. How Veach played that is beyond me.

This trade says a lot about where the Ravens think they are. And they're right, their window closed when their crazy good defense from three years ago lost it's mojo. The Ravens are now going through a mini-rebuild and they believe this trade will go a long way in accomplishing that as soon as next year. But they have little chance this year even if they don't trade Brown to the Chiefs. Their DL isn't up to snuff. Amongst several other issues with their roster.

But I do think the Ravens will come on very soon. Their Super Bowl window will reopen after this season when the Chiefs potentially lose several players on their defense and potentially trade the Cheetah next year.

Am I mistaken or has Brown been an all pro last two years and I know one of those two years for sure were at LT if not both but either way all pro at both spots he deserves his money. I don't believe thats a we not me thing but a job is a job and he got a promotion succeeded at LT bigtime and now wants to stay on the higher paying position. Nobody wants to go backwards. Had he been mediocre or blah then yea sorry your a RT beat it lol.
It's a luxury to have an all pro at multiple positions and he should be paid the going rate. I'd take him over Trent Williams any day for his youth alone makes him more valuable.

OBJ is a two time Pro Bowl selection. I believe the All-Pro selection for LT went to Trent Williams last year.
