Vinny B is now saying order of operations for remaining FA is: NT/OLB/ILB. Interesting that he didn't include WR in there. Guy seems pretty dialed in to the Rams front office.

Unless somebody gets cut, are there any WRs really worthwhile left?

I'm mildly surprised that TE isn't on there, given the Rams tried to sign one, but there probably isn't budget for anyone who isn't a real difference maker there, while basic run stuffing NTs and ILBs probably won't be too expensive. Don't know who is available who can help at OLB.

What concerns me is the Rams haven't addressed stopping the run at all so far. Matter of fact they technically have gotten worse releasing Quinn, Ogletree etc. Why I say this when others will criticize is they were the first stringers. If there were better players on our depth chart they would start but they didn't so that makes IMO Quinn and Ogletree better players.

Now maybe our first pick in the draft makes an impact since I assume he will be a NT or OLb or ILB but after that I highly doubt out late 3rd rounders make big contribution this year. We must solve this.

I think Peters and Talib were amazing acquisitions and I do believe we have the best secondary in the NFL but we need to address our Run D and pass rush.

Plus we lost Watkins which was a huge loss not a 16m a year loss though but still a loss. Reynolds did not show me any signs that he was that good. Again if he did he would start. Look at Kupp he started and made a huge rookie impact.

The Rams are better but on Offense the TEs need to make strides we need some help at WR and backup OLine. Goff will be even better imo our secret weapon he is a huge franchise QB. Just the way he handled the line calls last year. This year he will be quicker and even more precise as to checking us into better plays.

In the draft if we can get Davenport or Vea we will have really helped the Rams Run D and pass rush bc Vea will make it impossible for teams to double or triple team Donald.

Lastly I really like the moves Minnesota did to help a really strong team to begin with.

My guess is that list doesn't exist in a vacuum either. I'm sure that list is somewhat dependent on who's available or likely to be available coming up. There probably aren't any TE's or WRs (like you said) worth going after for the Rams at this point. I would not be surprised if Barwin is the answer to OLB eventually. (And by answer, just for FA, we'll need to try to draft a difference maker at 23 there).

The only ones whose contracts would give us cap relief if they were cut would be Barron's, and that would be a disaster, since he may be the lone returning linebacking starter, and also Whitworth's:help: and that ain't happening.

Now we might be able to restructure a few contracts to help. Having said that I still expect then to sign 1 or 2 off the radar free agents.

I understand your pain, as I have some of the same concerns. I too am mildly worried about Reynolds, as we didn't see him do much last year. But with Watkins, Woods, and Kupp we weren't going to see much of anybody beyond those three.

However how much will Reynolds do without Watkins, who basically took away for the need to utilize Reynold's speed. Just maybe without Watkins around, Reynolds may shine. And remember before the Watkins trade Reynolds was going to be that 3rd receiver.

I wonder if Vinnie is just speculating on these. They are the obvious needs.

I'm not a Connor Barwin fan. He seemed slow to me and would be caught in the middle when going after the QB. He doesn't have the closing speed. The Rams have been kicking the tires but, the cost appears to be too high for the top FAs. Does Easley count as a NT?

Bored. I'm going back to sleep...can someone message me if the Rams sign a FA?

Haha! Never sleep during the season! I was just jacked for start of FA after the Awesome trades...and nothing for the most part since. Ok, nap time now!

Actually I think Thomas was going to be the 3rd receiver
