I was watching Reynolds highlights on YouTube and he doesn't separate. He has great hands, fights for he ball and high points it we'll, but most of his catches were with dbs right there. I am not convinced that they are ready for Reynolds to step into Sammy's role.

Maybe that's what it is, the college tape on him showed a payer that fought for the ball, it didn't occur to me it was because he wasn't getting any separation - great point @Elmgrovegnome

our Thomas Pro Day
\Thomas' surprise at lasting as long as he did is actually well-founded. After bouncing from junior college to Southern Miss, Thomas was one of the country's most productive receivers. In 2015, he finished with 71 catches for 1,391 yards and 14 touchdowns. At 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, it wasn't like Thomas lacked size and reports pegged his 40-yard dash time at his pro day in the 4.4-4.5 second range so speed wasn't necessarily the issue, either.

Yea I think the one in NO is related to Jerry Rice

I'm not sure, we've kicked the tires on Austin a while back, I doubt he has anything to offer anymore...

Funny, but I am talking about Dante Pettis. He can fly, has good hands is a very good deep threat, has great vision running after the fact, is a kick ass punt returner, and his ankle surgery has prevented him from working out, so he may drop down draft boards.

Only messing with you, I'm aware of Dante, he's got traits that McVay Loves - great work ethic, comes from a family of sportsmen, sure hands, runs a full route tree etc... but I'm not sure if he's just a STer

Sup Dag! Been a long while since the Ram get together in Bradford rookie year lol!!

What you up to and what happened to the other guys we met up with.

Wasn't that the game you and your son went onto the field after the game? The Bradford rookie game was on the other board vs Seattle IIRC? Those cats have vanished, at least most of them.

The state of every NFL team after Week 1 of free agency
BY PFF ANALYSIS TEAM

The opening of the new league year has come and gone, and after a furious week of transactions big and small, the Pro Football Focus analysis team has sifted through the week’s moves and breaks it down on a team by team basis. Below, find players added, players lost, each team’s specific overview and with eyes towards the 2018 NFL Draft, each team’s biggest draft need after the first week of free agency.

[Editor’s note: The players added and players lost categories below include players re-signed, extended, options picked up or declined, restricted free agents tendered or not and by way of trades. Players who remained unrestricted free agents will not be included on players added nor lost until they sign contracts with a team.]

Players added

CB Marcus Peters (85.7), CB Aqb Talib (86.2), S Lamarcus Joyner (90.3), CB Nickell Robey-Coleman (84.9), C John Sullivan (74.6)

Players lost

WR Sammy Watkins (76.2), S Cody Davis (n/a), CB Trumaine Johnson (74.2), TE Derek Carrier (n/a), S Maurice Alexander (n/a), LB Alec Ogletree (38.9), Edge Robert Quinn (58.1)

Biggest draft needs

Edge defender, wide receiver

Overview

The defending NFC West champion went out and bolstered their position within the division by acquiring the best outside cornerback duo of Peters and Talib and resigning slot corner Robey-Coleman. Both Peters and Talib ranked in the top-15 among outside corners in PFF grade last season, well ahead of Johnson who will make just $2.7 million less than the new Rams combo this season.

With offenses generating more value by targeting the slot than any other position, the signing of 26-year-old Robey-Coleman seems particularly prudent, especially when you consider that his yearly average ranks just 30th among corners (per Over The Cap) and he earned the fourth-highest grade among slot corners. This may be the best cornerback trio in the game, as opposing quarterbacks have a passer rating of just 67.9 when targeting those three over the past two years.

Watkins leaving the fold is not insignificant as QB Jared Goff had a 122.0 passer rating when targeting Watkins, best of any Rams receiver in 2017. Despite the loss, the Rams still have the benefit of perhaps the best 12th man in the game – fresh off having his first legal drink – Sean McVay orchestrated an offense that created the most uncontested targets off of play action. The future appears bright for the Rams in Tinseltown. – @PFF_George

No mention of a ILB or DT, and forgetting that Watkins being targeted was very few times compared to Woods and Kupp, with Kupp getting targeted the most when Woods was injured. It's easy for a Quarterback to have to having a high passer rating to the receiver who is only 3rd on the team in being targeted.

Before a writer does a story, wouldn't it be good to do enough research first to make sure you're not misapplying facts?

I just noticed that so far the Rams are the only NFL team that has not signed a qualifying UFA that would affect their compensatory picks. I think it's pretty clear that want to maximize their compensation they get in 2019.

Sorry if someone already mentioned this earlier. I didn't see it in this thread.

Now that Suh is a Ram, just one more on the short list before the draft ... can we sign ILB Navarro Bowman to our roster cheap enough with another short term contract to make for a CAP friendly off-season ? C'mon Bowman, how badly do you want that ring you came so close to in 2013 ?

Is Bowman any good still? Why did the Whiners release him?

From Wiki :

In Week 5 of the 2017 season, Bowman was benched for a few series, and later voiced his displeasure with the decision from the 23–26 overtime loss to the Colts. On October 13, 2017, Bowman was released from the 49ers at his request after the team was unable to trade him. On October 16, 2017, Bowman signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Oakland Raiders. During Week 12 against the Denver Broncos, Bowman intercepted a pass from quarterback Paxton Lynch in the endzone, giving the Raiders their first interception of the year after not having one in their first 11 weeks.
