The Rams should establish an Aaron Donald Award…

And I really doubt many mediocre players would submit to this proposed camp. Those who would volunteer, probably don't need it....
So the OP was just a spitball idea of engaging Donald. If I were Rams I would engage him before next offseason and let him decide what would interest him. Strength & Conditioning/Scouting/DL Coaching/etc. Dont tell him their intentions but hell it might even interest him join a Super Bowl run.

Greg Cosell Scouting Reports

Yes, I think Mitchell is much more talented then Thomas Jr. Thomas may be the best deep threat in the class, but literally doesn't do anything else well (including catching). Mitchell is just so much more balanced and even more athletic. Mitchell has a much higher ceiling IMO.
But does he have that dawg in him. That's the key for me.

I cooled on Mitchell a bit when I heard about him taking plays off and questions about his effort when blocking.

Has Anyone Attended A PGA Event???

Wow...I understand the burnout, totally, but what about the money? Korda makes millions. I would love to play golf for millions...that would be like, ah, being in heaven!

Well... many LGPA players could make more money getting a job than they do on the tour. Many don't make any money after expenses during their first several years and many never really do. The costs are crazy. Her dad would pay everything for her if she decides to jump in... but he really wants it more than she does. Golf payed for her entire education here in the USA including 2 masters degrees (Because of covid adding an additional year+ to her eligibility) and she wants to do her own thing now.

I was surprised to hear how many LPGA players never make any real money. It is extremely expensive and the travel costs are insane too. Like I said, her dad will pay for it if she wants to try. I was kinda surprised too (and kinda bummed) when she decided she didn’t want to continue.

The other part is the travel. Being out on the road all over the world constantly is a big turn off for her. She has a great job here that doesn't require any travel. Tiger and Rory hired her away from her job recently... they are starting a new golf league thing with lots of backing from other celebrities. She worked there for a very short time and went back to the job she left (they completely understood why she left, but were so happy she came back) because of things she saw happening behind the scenes. The golf world knows her, but golf just doesn't attract her anymore. She is way more interested in becoming a mother than anything. Golf wouldn't allow that either. Her family is very blessed so the allure of money earned from golf isn't like it would be for most.

Plus... she's married to my son! What more could she ask for LOL. He's one lucky sob is the reality of it all. He hit the jackpot when they met and started dating.

I just rewatched "Los Angeles Rams: All or Nothing" from 2016

I was completely done with Fisher when, on Hard Knocks, he openly mocked Jared Goff for buying fans for his teammates due to the heat in their rooms. I guess Fisher thought Goff should've gone the whole HVAC route or something.

I knew that Goff would not be allowed to succeed under him.
I don't really remember that, but I'd kinda have to disagree with your takeaway on that. IMO Fisher was a good "player's coach" and knew how to connect with guys and motivate them and create a team atmosphere. (Discipline was only mediocre, but team morale was pretty good). Fisher's problem was with adapting to a modern offense.

Anyway-- if Fisher was razzing Goff about buying fans for the rooms, I can't imagine it was that big of a deal. The problem on that team was Fisher and Rob Boras, the OC who was in way over his head. The O was so god-awful that year, so inept and basic and predictable. Sadly Gurley was right when he ripped the "middle school offense" of that year.

I'll always defend Fisher as a good guy and a good player's coach. But I'll always think he was deficient in the tactics of modern offense. Just my 2 cents.

Great AD99 interview with Chris Long

Yeah, I thought that was fascinating too. An elite DT playing at just over 250lbs in the NFL? And racking up 20.5 sacks and 25 TFL's and winning DPOY while doing so? And lastly... they essentially kept his low weight a secret all year?

Interesting stuff. Makes you wonder about the conventional wisdom regarding a DT's weight. Granted AD is a freak.... a super freak. But could other strong and undersized and cat-quick DT's create some mismatches?

Should Rams Switch Avila to Center?

WOW - just to think The Rams really addressed The Front THREE!!

Saffold really came into his own with Sullivan & Whitworth what Johna Williams is going to bring with Steve Avila playing CENTER is really going to secure upfront for Matthew Stafford.

Sean Mcvay talked about moving to Center once he knew Johna Williams was available & a possibility to sign.Avila was ALL for it,but was nervous about the learning curb & how well Shelton was a Line Calls.

Mcvay told him well just start from the beginning & expand each day on the grass(meetings). He also knows Matthew Stafford is such a veteran QB who reads everything anyways will make it easier & takes some of the pressure off Avila if need be ?

I was just looking at The Rams Free Agent signings & departed.
What a DIFFERENCE The Rams are going to be upfront . Stafford must be excited, especially with Williams being signed.Williams said playing with Stafford again is what brought him to The Rams.

Still think bringing in another RB is Key for Depth. When Kyren Williams got hurt The Rams went on that Big Lossing Streak.

Seeing Brian Allen & Shelton on the departed only brought JOY with how much BIGGER The Rams are upfront!!! What a DREAM front for the next THREE YEARS !!!

These signings & switch Pro Longs Matthew Stafford Career on Paper. You never know in The NFL,but WOW !!

For those of us who know we're not draft geeks.....

What am I missing about Chop Robinson? His production (sacks, tfl, tackles, qb hits) is anemic.
Elite athlete on the rise. Teachable. And on occasion, a freak athlete can be a great NFL player even though his college production is not huge. You look at speed, hands, feet, all the things that he does well.

If he had great production he'd be top 10 pick. Without it he drops to later, maybe 20s-30s

Needs to get stronger and needs to work on pass rush moves.

Poll question……no poll

It’d be interesting to see who the Rams have as the highest rated on their draft boards. If you look at +/- on games we lost last season and factor in players we lost in the offseason, I’m looking at the following players being rated highly:

1. Cooper - Adequate play by Spoon and sometimes below average play by Kendricks accounted for losses against Pitt and Baltimore. His ability to play a star position should make Shula salivate.

2. The loss of ADPOY is yuge. I can see Snead pining for Newton. It is possible Snead likes Hall and Fiske, and would trade back in the first for another high quality player in the second or third rounds.

3. Hoecht dropping back into coverage. If an athlete like Latu is there, do we snatch him up or wait for a Mo Kamara in the third?

There are also other holes to fill including a legitimate bu RB and ILB. These could wait until round 3 or later.

Bottom line, I believe the choice will be between Cooper, Newton, and Latu.

Quick and Dirty Mock to 19 after 1st round FA

could the first two picks give us some insight into how the Rams are thinking about their future?

A QB could mean McVay is serious about being in it for the long haul.

An OLT could mean they are thinking of a multi year Super Bowl window.

A pass rusher feels like a more urgent move indicating that they think it’s happening now.

A receiver feels like a future move for a longer run.
Well I think I read they have an offseason decision to make on Stafford but either way if he doesn't play well this season and if they do take a LT then they will be set up to draft a QB who will benefit from one hell of a line in front of him. So the investment in the OL so far is welcome and even more investment in the draft would be welcome. Wouldn't be particularly efficient, given that OT would need to redshirt, but it would set the table for QB play to be strong no matter what they do at the position.

Even a rook can look decent, after all, provided he has a strong run game and protections. :thumbsup1:
