But, he was just deadly on that intermediate stuff and crossing the middle of the field. He would catch everything and was so reliable and complete as a receiver. I could see Kupp developing into that sort of game in game out go to guy. A first down machine with occasional big plays.

A bit maybe... Ellard had great hands also and could really jump.

However Kupp is stronger and harder to tackle...if he can have the kind of career Ellard had.. then yeah we have something :P

Yes and no.
Williams can be solid at LT. A 16 game starter, probably not. Clearly better and more comfortable at LT than RT.
Rams have Williams and Lucas at LT. Will be interesting to see if the Rams feel they have or can develop either as both are young players.
Using a third round pick on a LT would be wise if the team doesn't think neither Williams or Lucas can develop.
Inside Blythe has been good when he has played.
I would invest two picks in OL this draft but not the first round pick with rest of the draft going to the D.
Trying to find cheap OL FA to add depth or develop is tough shopping.....this is what the Rams did with Lucas. If there were to be major investing in the OL via FA it would be to upgrade RG as Brown is the weakest of the starters. But, I seriously doubt that would happen.

Verizon to pay NFL $500 million a year to stream games

I was on Verizon... terrible experience.

When I hopped over to AT&T, got a final bill for over $400 (normal bill was ~ $250). Cancellation fees, they said.

I fought it and they finally admitted they were wrong. Got an e-mail to verify.

Then, a year later, I start getting collection notices. Called the collection agencies (they kept passing it on from one to another) and all of them agreed it was not valid and would clear it out.

Until a few months ago (understand that I left Verizon over four years ago)... this agency wouldn't let it go and they put a collection account on my credit bureau.

Unfortunately, I lost the e-mail from the Verizon agent acknowledging the final amount was wrong.

So, I settled with the agency for $125 and it was removed from my bureau.

There is no amount of features or reduction in price that would ever make me consider going back to them... just terrible experience.

Personally I can’t stand the prevent offense. I hate it worse than the prevent defense. I’ve seen hundreds of games lost because teams get a lead and want to play it safe with too much time left and so go in to heavy run mode. It often fails just like a heavy pass offense can when there is an interception or sack and fumble.

I think in this game though since the eagles were the top running defense, the plan was to go pass heavy. Why beat your head against a brick wall?! Mcvay saw the success Gurley was having in this game and the last two possessions actually did run Gurley. But he gained -3 yards and no yards. I think he thought the eagles were clamping down on the run like they can when they commit to it.

I liked the call to take a shot deep with Sammy and end the game. It takes balls to do that. The problem was without Havenstein at RT you should not expect the same amount of time to throw there. Jared should learn from this and Sean too. In the future in this situation I would implement my short passing game with go to guy Kupp and Gurley out of the backfield in dumpoffs.

We need to learn how to close out games with our short passing game. Against most teams you can mix in heavy run if it’s working. I don’t mind the call vs Philly to close it out through the air but with a backup tackle in there a deep route is too risky.

I'm one that calls for more carries for Gurley...it's not run heavy I want, its balance and use your best playmaker.

If it's the screen game for Gurley where he rips off a 20 yarder ...I'm all good with that.

So how do other NFC games affect us this weekend?

The Jags really did the Rams a solid by beating Seattle.
Seattle is an amazing team. Capabale of a big play at anytime. Wilson had under 40 yards passing at halftime I believe and they ended up scoring 24 points.
Have to find a way to run the ball. Hopefully from the first game McVay will realize lateral running, bubble screens, jet sweeps etc don't work bs Seattle as they are too fast.
If Seattle has some guy(s) suspended I am running right at his spot over and over again.
I am also thinking about huddling and calling two plays at a time with a hand signal audible to help with crowd noise.
Huddle up, call the two plays. Run play 1 back to the line asap like the O does now. Run play 2 then huddle for play 2. Only thing with that is either simplifying a bit or McVey is going to have to have them ready to roll because it will take time in the huddle.

crap, I guess I do like their defense! LOL...still, it's not as good as a Ravens 2000 D....and that's the way they are being portrayed....

I think our success against Seattle is party due to our familiarity with them...we kinda know what they do...we know how to play Russell.

It'll be an interesting game....I think the Hawks will score...the key will be, can Bortles score on them?

Yea like I said, can't see Seattle winning that game. They made it close with Wilson's 4th quarter magic....if only he was a good QB in quarters 1-3 they'd be unbeatable.

The NFL has the money and the desire to do that. The refs refuse because they can't keep their day jobs. If they keep their day jobs, they get to add the $100,000+ they make as NFL refs onto what they make in their other employment.

I guess that clearly indicates how good of a QB Wentz is. Anyway, we lost, you can analyze, criticize, dissect, parse, critique, the result is still the same. For me it was an exciting and entertaining game that lived up to its billing in spite of the Rams' poor defensive play most of the afternoon. (Is the Coliseum the only stadium in the NFL in which fans of the visiting team actually do "the Lambeau Leap" into hundreds of fans lined up in the first few rows of the endzone? You would think the Rams' boxoffice and ticket booths would sell these seats to Ram fans.)

Now, Seattle is a must win and as my dad said year after year and game after game"a good team can win anywhere. The fans don't play the game".

Yup you are right on the money on both things.

I remember the first time I encountered one of the "ironwoods" several years ago and it was amazing to learn about them and the properties since I have a big furniture background.

The evidence suggests otherwise. If you're right, then they might end up getting him signed, but I have serious doubts that he's willing to take a "reasonable paycut." He's as good as gone but I think the Rams will still end up being just fine at the position. Wade knows what he needs, and will get it through the draft if necessary.
